I created this temp cover for my site a decade ago for my gay soldiers book. Harper will send their 1st attempt at the real 1 soon. (I have veto/approval power.)
I get the copy-edits back tomorrow! After 26 years, nearly there. (I began shadowing “Brett and Drake” for the Salon story Feb 4, 2000.)
To Get Notified when it’s published and available for pre-order, send me an email with “notify” in the subject line (not case-sensitive).
Pub date this fall. Exact date coming soon. (They may be working around release of the third d Heated Rivalry book Unrivaled, Sep. 29. Same publisher, HarperCollins.)
This will hopefully be the book I’m remembered for, and my last big 1 like this. I only did two in my life, but tried like hell to build them to last.
This 1 took a lot out of me: I lost 25 pounds in 6 months, went broke, lost most of my friends being a hermit three years and moving to Chicago where my family is helping me, on Medicaid for years, did six months on food stamps, put off a ton of medical care for 2-3 years . . .
But I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Well, it would be really hard to face that, but 100% I'd do it all again.

What stood out to me about The Depressive was how calm it feels, and The Depressive & the Psychopath: Why Eric Harris & Dylan Klebold attacked Columbine is the detail I’d remember. I’d stash Maternity Photos poses in my notes for a later pass.
This note on this topic reads naturally, and the details on the page is what gives it a real-world feel. I’ll probably revisit product poster when I need it.
The part about The Depressive feels surprisingly grounded, and The Depressive & the Psychopath: Why Eric Harris & Dylan Klebold attacked Columbine is the bit that made me slow down. I’d keep AI family photo bookmarked for later.

The content is engaging, easy to understand, and provides meaningful insights for readers. It reminds me of the Rice Purity Test, which offers a simple and interactive way for people to reflect on their experiences and learn more about themselves.
