Bestselling Author
TV/Film Rights
Available
I retain exclusive rights to all my IP for TV, film, theatrical, etc, including all my Vanity Fair stories and Columbine, Parkland, and the forthcoming Don't Fall in Love: The Secret Lives of Two Gay Soldiers Hiding in Plain Sight.
Since Columbine was released in 2009, several producers attempted to produce Columbine as a scripted film, with me only involved as a consultant. I will never do that again. On the last instantiation I partnered with Kyle Bradstreet as creators and executive producers. We made a great team, and I learned a tremendous amount from him.
Columbine deserves to reach a wide audience, because virtually the entire population still believes the myths I busted in Columbine, and misunderstands the nature of why these killers do it. I retain the rights, which reverted to me years ago.
We will get it made as series for TV or streaming when the right team comes together. Any project will again include me as creator and executive producer, either alone or again collaborating with an experience writer-producer. I have been writing screenplays for thirty years, earned my WGA card and completed the WGA Staff Writer Boot camp.
