all i can say is "amazing".  even though we guessed that having the movie on dvd and blueray would keep the story and its effect alive, to hear of it happening, in exactly, more or less the same sweep of emotions and same intensity better than 5 years after its big screen release is deeply moving.  i can't even describe the play of emotions going through my mind reading excaliman's post, so unequivocally the same intensity that so many of us experienced when seeing the film so long ago.

mostly it left me with a knowing grin, and a deep sense of awe that that combination of author, writers, directors, musicians, seamstresses, and the overpowering beauty of the canadian rockies could come together to create a timeless work of art.

and we were right their on the front lines, caring for the sick and wounded, if you will forgive a stretched metaphor.

i hope the newcomers DO go back to those early threads, before we got so comfortable in our post brokeback skins, to see us in all our wounded disarray and faded glory.
