Thanks Marz! Everyone is so friendly here.
let me welcome you too, AG.  i'm not going to tell you about all the hours of wonder and grief and awe and tears you will find in here, but stick around and you will discover you have had the same, and i mean the SAME reaction as almost everyone that found their way here, no matter what the reason or what the year.  and reading your description all these years on gave me goose pimples (or chicken skin, depending on where you are from) because from day one of this forum, and before that as well, i have read the same message, and it reinforces that we are not fans or kooks, although we may become so, we are gobsmacked by a masterpiece, in my case more by annie's short story, but then by the stunning acting of heath and jake , enormous up there on the big screen, and the skill of the director and everyone else attached to the making of the film.

eta:  i really have to stop visiting here and typing way into the late ours.  you can see my brain skipping groves in the typos. (that's a reference to vinyl records for those too young to know)

keep your eyes and ears open, and when the opportunity to see the film on the big screen, do so, even if you have to go to california.  it seems likely to be shown in austin at least once a year tho, its that kind of film.

Yeah, Austin's a great place! I was stationed in San Antonio when I was in the Army, and loved getting up to that city.

Glad you enjoyed them, Kim!

Before that trip we had a gathering in Estes Park CO, and among those vids is a reading of the short story by Rodney Giles, who was an excellent interpreter of it.

Hi everyone

First of all though I have posted on a few threads but the choice is so extensive it takes time to read them all!  i would like to thank everyone who had replied to me for making me so welcome, you really are a brilliant bunch.

I am Jane, I am 52 and have two grown up children, Chris and Michelle and two grand daughters.  I live in Cromer, which is a seaside town on the Norfolk coast which I love, the beach is at the bottom of my road, Cromer is famous for its crabs (beautiful!!).  I work as a medical secretary in the local hospital in Norwich, which is our biggest city in the county.

My main interests are animals, I love horses and can ride quite well, love dogs as well but don't have one at the moment due to working long hours.  I have loved films since my childhood as well as music and nature.

Looking forward to getting to know more of the wonderful people on this forum!  Thanks again for the welcome.

Hi Jane!

I'm Sara, live in Devon, been on the forum nearly 4 years now though I still sometimes feel like a latecomer - I think the nature of it has changed over the years.

And I have 5 grandchildren, 3 here, 2 in Australia.

Another welcome Jane.

It is good to see you here. I'm from Sweden, a small town by the sea just south of Stockholm. Have three kids, the youngest is 20 and still lives at home. And I'm expecting my third grandchild in just a few weeks! I'm 54.

Hope to see more of you around.  Smiley

Hi, Jane.

I haven't run into any of your other posts, but would just like to welcome you to the forum.

I'm Debbie, and live in Pennsylvania, USA.  We'll probably meet again on another thread one of these days.
