I've been told that this is the place to post pictures of ourselves, so...

This is one I took on my webcam:

Wow, it's been a while since I've done anything on a message board...  Here's hoping I've remembered how to use everything properly.  ^_^

Anyway, howdy!  My name is Carly - I'm a Merlin fandomer and I was invited here by a group of lovely ladies who recommended this board very highly, so hello, thank you for having me!  I guess I'll jot down just a few tidbits to introduce myself - I'm a slash author, I OTP Merlin/Arthur pretty hard though I'll read almost anything, I love kink and meta and writing about both, I was a policy debater in college and it left something of a permanent imprint on my brain... Biggest turnoffs include stereotyping, kink shaming, poorly reasoned arguments, and political debate.  Turnons include but are not limited to philosophy, thoughtful discourse, BJames' faaaace, Mexican food, dancing, and good stories.

I'd try to be more clever and come up with more interesting things to share but it's getting stupidly late for it being a work day tomorrow so I'll stop here with a hello and good evening to you all!  Cheesy  *waves*

Welcome to the Forum Carly.

This is a good topic to read. The original "How Brokeback Affected Me" topic from 2005:

Selected from among the most compelling writing on The Ultimate Brokeback Forum, the stories in Beyond Brokeback: The Impact of a Film convey the remarkable power of the film Brokeback Mountain to affect the lives of all sorts of people—straight and gay, old and young, male and female—on six continents. Ranging from the amusing to the emotionally devastating, the pieces collected in Beyond Brokeback crystallize the deep, frequently life-changing reactions of its often-unsuspecting viewers.

Hi Carly --

Come find us in the "Merlin" thread.  From the main board, go to "Members Only" and "The Juicy Bits."  You'll find the Merlin thread there.  We're in the midst of our S2 rewatch, so nominally we're talking about "Sweet Dreams" today, but we're all following P'thon as well.  You might just like to browse back in the thread a bit and see what we get up to.  It's a little bit of everything, really, whatever strikes your fancy.

(BTW, I'm a retired Parliamentary style debater myself ...)
