well, can we ask a lady how old her older brother is?  Evil

waah, now I am craving risotto.... for breakfast!

LOL on the "three-fingered creatures"  Cheesy

glen, I found out Heath was into powderfinger after I'd gotten into them, so that was neat. I saw split enz in concert, at a small club in Denver, in 1980 or so..."shark attack" lol....  it was not a sold out show, as nobody had really heard of them before. loved them! and fell in love much later with Neil Finn's stuff. I do remember Midnight Oil in my college days, they were popular in california for sure.

that's great that the somewhere in time fans are so devoted to the movie. I haven't seen it... yet.

and Debbie,,, I didn't know you turned around and got your brother, that was sweet of you. I guess you might have been doing your aunt and uncle a favor, tho.  Wink

I saw Somewhere in time last summer. It's a very sweet movie.
Didn't have the impact on me though, that it's obviously had on a lot of people.

The movie has a very devoted fan base. They meet up every year on the filming location and do re-enactments....

Sound familiar?   Cheesy

But have we done reenactments of scenes from the movie? I always thought that would be fun, to hand out scripts from the movie and let people tackle (or mangle) their favorite scenes. Or see how far we could get on memory alone.

Ad libbing scenes would be cool. Bobby and Fayette needed more speaking roles, and the lovable Basque, too. I can see him telling ennis what to do, explaining how to set up a proper camp kitchen, and the various uses for crisco.

I mean, lube.   Cheesy

There's an app with ambient sound effects that could enhance the mood. It has sheep bleating, horses trotting, wind blowing, rivers rushing, and thunderstorms with rainfall.

Dunno about coyotes bawling, tho.  Wink

Not complete scenes, but on the roadtrip to Brokenback Mountain in 2007 some individuals reenacted some dialogue and such from the movie.

Eric and Rodney did a partial scene here.

And only if they're as big as apples.

Thanks for the link, fritz!    Rain water cistern. Is there a brother, too?   Grin

Saw the scene, what a hoot. Wasn't ennis sitting, instead of squatting? Would have made it easier on eric!  But ennis was squatting, in other parts of the movie.

Jack twist, too. (washing clothes in the nude) Shocked

One impressive reenactment would be jumping off the cliff together, into icy water. Not many lines to recite, but you'd need balls, or a thermal wetsuit. Wink

We did reenactments on the two Alberta trips I've been to.

Mostly for stills, but at the last one there were also videos taken.

They're posted on BetterMost, though.

I'll see if I can dig some of them up.

That sounds so interesting, sonja! Yes, a link would be cool.

I bet they did that sort of thing at some of the slash bashes, too.
