Lori, my husband hasn't seen it either after all this time. He did put on the DVD on his own when we were on holiday but just up until the FNIT (first night in tent if you haven't figured out the lingo yet). He only stopped there because I came back to the hotel room and it was time to go to dinner. We got too drunk over the meal to watch the rest of it. After that then he came up with an argument I couldn't counter: he was afraid if he watched the rest he might not get what the fuss was about and I'd be disappointed. He knows me too well!  Cheesy

lori..

unless you have at minimum a 60" screen, there IS no comparison.  the close up of ennis at the twist kitchen at full size is a miracle of understatement , and the background of the canadian rockies standing in for wyoming and colorado is a bonus.  big screen sound systems make it touchably real.  and i never have seen it in a first class theatre, hence the trip from florida.  i wager there will be several people from out of country there, as well as representatitves of all parts of the state.

and of course, you will get to meet many of the people you talk to here in person.  a joy many of us have experienced.  we turn out to be pretty much as advertised, as a rule.  Cheesy

Jack,
I'm so excited just thinking about it!  Last night I told my husband about the showing.  He said,"I think the Red Sox are playing out there then.  I'd like to go."  Imagine my luck.  How do you make sure you have tickets, or is it a situation where you have to stand in line and hope you get in?
It's fun to think about being surrounded by people who feel as you do while watching the movie.  Sounds so cool.

Wie geht's, y'all?

It won't be finalized until after the Oscars, but San Francisco John is in contact with a friend of his to procure a block of tickets. We all hope he'll be successful in this. I'm driving out there myself for this event, from Virginia!
