Hi All,

I cannot believe that I am going to admit this out in the open, but, I guess if I am this is the best place to do it. I saw BBM 30 times between December and March, and yes, I know it well enough that I can probably do everyone's parts.

There is only one person outside this forum that I admited that to and it took me a long time before I'd even give him the exact number of times I went.

Up until this point I don't think I'd seen any movie more that 2 or 3 times, but this affected me so strongly I couldn't stay away. I was addicted and still am . If was still showing in the thearters now I would still go and see it. I loved hearing people's reactions and even a a few conversations with people afterward. I recall severa times hearing people sobbing, a few times the person was me.

I have NEVER felt so attached or moved by a film before, in many ways it changed me and helped me have some long over due realizations, but I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about.

You can do everybody's parts...even L.D.'s? Grin I'm glad you said many times because we must of been sitting next to each in spirit! I can't tell you exactly but my times to the theaters is in the 30's. I simply could not stay away, y'know?

9 times in the theater and 5 times at home (DVD).  Everyone I saw it with was very moved except one.  That one person said very little, but after, she initiated some major life changes.  Coincidence?  I think not.

Three times in two weeks, thinking of little else in between, and questioning my sanity. Still have't dared to watch it together with somebody else, because he/she would undoubtedly question my sanity...

Excuse me. I have watched the movie for at least 4 times, all during the days when i first dicovered the amazing love story. and later on, i find that i have less and less passion on it. So i'm just doubting why i become indifferent cause the first travel to the movie really drove crazy and i ccouldnt help myself crying each time. Perhaps its because of my hererosexuality or not sure for that? but i was really touched.

Comcast is putting BBM on it's Pay Per View starting today! So this means even more people will get a chance to see our movie. I'm almost tempted to buy it even though I have the DVD.

Hi, this is my first post. Been lurking for a month, have read all the very old threads, have now decided I have to jump in somewhere  or leave it be. There is no way to get an overall idea of what's been said already. Brokeback Fever hit me late in the German cinema run - so I've only seen it 5 times and feel I've really missed out. My partner (male, I'm female) loved the film, but thinks I've gone off the rails. This is my week off, and the day before yesterday I drove three hours each way to Berlin, just to see the original version after seeing the German version four times. They have done a great job with the German version, but it was so worth it. I just wished I could just sit there and see it all over again. And again. It seems to fly by faster every time. I'm waiting for the German DVD to come out (with both languages) so it's easier to share if the opportunity comes up later on. But I know it won't be the same, no chance. Where's this "Fever" thread gone? Maybe I'm getting off topic here. Anyway, this is my first internet forum/chat ever, it's great to have found this place and you people. Lots of thanks to Dave Cullen, all the moderators and everyone - helps me hold on to the idea that I'm not totally mad. ;-).

The one moment we all long for in our lives

Hi everyone, since we're talking frequent flyers, how about the following:

to download bigger image: http://members.optushome.com.au/taybardon/QantasApr2006BrokebackMountainBig.jpg 263k

I know, I know, the screens in the air ain't that big, but any chance to see BBM is always GOOD!  I think they've reversed the image though, those graphic designers should leave our Heathbar and Jakey-poo alone!

Yes, welcome!!!

You are by no means alone.  No one can quite pin point the cause of fever, but we're here for support and to be amongst those who
"got it"!!  3 hours each way to Berlin to see BBM in it's original language is quite a trek.  But you're not off the rails.  Distance has not been an obstacle for a lot of people.  Someone here in the States flew from Florida to NYC, stayed in a hotel overnight to see it twice.  That's some time and money involved just to see a film.  But BBM isn't just any film, and that person said he doesn't regret the trip one bit.  David

I just watched the whole movie all the way through for just the second time on DVD. (I saw it five times in the theater.  Now I seem to be settling into once a month.)  I cried more than I ever had before.  Basically all the way through it.  I know from this site that that's not a very exceptional experience, but for me it is.  And I'm happy about it.  BBM sustains its hold on you. The movie, for me, has become what it wasn't at first--cleansing and cathartic.  Back in December it was mostly deeply disturbing, distressing, and depressing.

6 times in theater
(once with boyfriend, 5 times alone)
4 more times on DVD and more to come

I voted 10 in the poll; should the DVD viewings be counted?
I'd have gone to theater more but didn't discover it until February 5 and then it left after a few more weeks

Once in the theater, about 20 times on the dvd. I wasn't sure how to vote either.

I've finally gone a whole week without putting the DVD in the player.  I'm not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing, but I think it indicates that I've finally resolved a lot of things in my head that were inspired by the film after: three times on the big screen, a dozen full viewings of the DVD and probably 100 individual scenes watched on the DVD (again, trying to resolve something that was gnawing at my psyche about the film).

I'm not sure I can explain to anyone how I've changed as a man since the first viewing but I know I have and in some profound ways (to me..  I'm not sure anyone else would notice.. I think they might).

If nothing else, BBM forced me to analyze who I have been and who I am and possibly even the man I am becoming.  I think I've been hearing a lot of men in these Forums saying approximately the same thing.  Its been one cathartic ride.

Hey Nellie! I just respondes to that shirt issue post on an other thread!
I was wondering, you coudn't watch the movie in it's entirety because you couldn't bare the pain of  it?
I know that when I bring myself to watch it again I sort of have to prepare myself for the worst...

You're awfully close to 6000 posts! Wow! What a sweet poster girl Wink Wink
