Just got back from the funeral....they gave him full honors ...he was in the service and was a policeman...very touching when they played "Taps"...Lord, not a dry eye in that place..tons of people ....LONG line of cars to the cemetery...I'm sure people were antsy to get thru us but couldn't...we had the cops escort us...was really nice...

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers...he will be greatly missed!!

Today would have been my father's 79th birthday.. It's been 15 years since he passed away, but I miss him every day with every ounce of my being. 

The grief never really leaves us, it just changes over time.

Tomorrow would have been my mother's 80th birthday. She passed away just 5 months ago. And my Dad was so looking forward to this date.

He would have bought her a big bunch of flowers.

While tomorrow, instead, he will go to the cemetery, as he does every day. And there's just her photograph.....
