Well done, Roger!

And well done Andy for a great game too, and for being a gracious loser (and his tears were quite sweet). I've never been a great fan, but I was proud of him.

And everyone lovees Roger, of course Kiss.

I only had audio on my laptop, and I could hear that Andy got very choked up...

Yes, Roger has a few fans at Wimbledon, doesn't he?

Tonight's the All-Star game, so NFL training camp is coming up.  I noticed all the teams have camp in their own states, except the damn Cowboys, who go to Oxnard, FGS.

And the Raiders can't practice in Oakland, noooooo, they have to go to Napa....but here are the important teams/dates.  I was gonna put NO, but there's a cloud over that team now, it's very disappointing, and sad...I used to root for them (after those below  Smiley, of course )   .

NFL Team                        Training Camp Site                  Training Camp Location              Rookies report                   Veterans report
San Francisco 49ers      Marie P. DeBartolo Center             Santa Clara, California                      7/21                                 7/26

New England Patriots             Gillette Stadium                   Foxboro, Massachusetts                   7/19                                 7/25

Philadelphia Eagles                 Lehigh University                 Bethleham, PA                              7/22                                 7/25

The Santa Clara area is where the 49ers are moving season after next, Nancy.

have they started building the stadium, Linda?  It's going up near Great America, isn't it?

Oh yes they broke ground a couple of months ago. They are fast tracking it. And somehow they have come up with a $30 million dollar shortfall, that has been determined is going to have to be made up by the 49ers organization. Which of course will translate into outrageous ticket prices, preventing the little guy from being able to afford to go to the game. It is no surprise that the new stadium is in the heart of Silicon Valley.

It's not gonna be the same.  Have they come up with some god-awful name for it, like Bank of Petco Loan Shark Park?

Candlestick was JUST FINE...

Right now it is just being called The Santa Clara Stadium.

This on the website:

Our stadium will consistently deliver the most elegantly satisfying outdoor sports and entertainment experience in the world. The Stadium will be an economically and environmentally sustainable showcase for innovation in the Silicon Valley.

So now Candlestick park will stand vacant and will most likely be torn down for over priced condos and yet one more tradition goes by the wayside.

Very true, Fritz.

The sports world wonders why they don't get support. The common man is priced right out of so many sports.

With the release of this new report showing several high officials being aware of sandusky's crimes, but not stopping them or reporting them, what will this do to the Penn State football program?  Personally, i think they should shut it down.  But should crimes by the college officials be held against current players and fans?  IDK

I'm surprised sandusky hasn't been beaten up in jail...i guess he's in protective custody, or whatever it's called.  Makes me mad that he gets protection, but the children he abused were defenseless against him...........

By Wesley Oliver, NBC News Legal Analyst

The Freeh Report is a scathing indictment, to speak colloquially, of officials at Penn State. But it could also preview actual indictments against Graham Spanier, Tim Curley, and Gary Schultz, key Penn State officials at the time Jerry Sandusky's sex abuse of minors was first being reported. And if Joe Paterno was still alive, his name could easily be added to that list.

Paterno, Curley, Schultz, and Spanier were aware of an investigation about improper conduct with Sandusky in a shower with a young boy in 1998. Then, when they learned from Michael McQueary that another incident occurred -- and this time much more graphic details were provided -- they only asked Sandusky not to bring his "guests" into Penn State showers.

Well, the Phillies can't climb out of the cellar, and the Giants are in 1st, ahead of LA only by 1/2 game.  And the straight trade deadline is 7/31.

The Giants took it to 12 innings against Houston last night, and won, and then won today as well.

They meet the Braves next.
