We have one more game with them tonight and I hope
we slug the tar out of them because we're now going on a very long
and difficult road trip.

Didn't happen, we lost pretty big.  4 in a row.  First time ever
lost a whole series to the Brewers and first time lost an entire
home series in nearly twenty years!  Yikes!

Wha' happened?

went to check the Giants standings and saw this...took me a minute to realize I was on the right website, they were wearing throwback uniforms for yesterdays game with Chicago, which they won...but they're still 4gb behind LA...

I love when they have games where they wear throwback uniforms, I was watching this game.
Also liked the Cubs deep dark blue uniforms, you rarely see those all dark colored uniforms any
more--I'd say they're probably too hot, absorbing more heat.

About ten years ago they had a night during the summer in one league, I think it was
the American League, where they had a back to the future type night where teams
wore uniforms that were imagined to look like they'd be wearing them say fifty years
from now.  One of them, I recall, had a barcode on them.  It was interesting.

I found a few photos of some of those uniforms:

Sleeveless.  Was nice seeing all those muscles.  And bruises!

(apparently the Mariners also wore their caps backwards that night)

"In 1999, the MLB decided to put on a “Turn Ahead the Clock” Night theme,
with various teams wearing uniforms that were meant to be “futuristic.”
There were a number of games spread out amongst the season that
featured these interesting looking outfits."
