And how. Even for those who arrived early and stayed late.

Excellent about the contribution to the It Gets Better project. A worthy organization.

And boo on the Gay Hate Day. The citizens of 1984's Oceania would be proud, few others.

Out West creator Gregory Hinton reports from the road . . .

Had a great experience in Indianapolis. We had a terrific turnout. John Vanausdall, president of the Eitlejorg Museum introduced the day-long program including Hidden Histories (gallery tour), Brokeback Mountain, and Beyond Brokeback (staged reading). Zach Adamson, the first openly gay city councilman of Indianapolis read the part of Dave Cullen. Standing ovation!

It is wonderful to honor our beloved Heath in any way.  If only he were here.  Sigh...

we were very successful with our self-published book Beyond Brokeback, recovering our publication costs and then some.

It was great to read Dave's message in TDS, and to know that Beyond Brokeback was not only a successful effort, but also a financial success.

Very happy to know our forum has made a donation to an organization that will use it wisely -- it's great to know all of our forum energy has turned into a tangible, positive influence for a good organization.

It's wonderful to see concrete benefits going to help others. This forum has helped so many members, including myself, but the donation is a wonderful way to honour the short story, film, and Heath. He would have been pleased by this. My copy of Beyond Brokeback is treasured. I do laugh though, at the back-to-front way I went about it all. Found the book during my search in late 2006 for anything about the film, through that, came to the forum.   Better late than never.

This is so good to hear. (And to hear that there IS a gay councilman in Indy. It tickles me every time I hear someone playing the part of Dave Cullen. Still can't wrap my head around that. Hehe.

I remember in the intro to the reading in Chicago, they introduced the first person to speak as "Dave Cullen", and not realizing that it was already part of the acted reading, we were wondering if you might be making a surprise showing, Dave!

Yeah, I remember that too. It took me a while to realize it was part of the performance.
