But we all know it was the BEST…and it will be remembered that way, and reaffirmed every time someone watches it for the first time…

Yay! Blazy is famous!

And Dorothy Parker left her estate to the NAACP, despite having had no connection with the organization previously.

And she was referring to the incomparable, unpredictable Tallulah Bankhead!

Of whom another reviewer remarked at her playing the role of Cleopatra, "She barged down the Nile, and sank."

(John Mason Brown, drama critic)

 Smiley  Hi!!

1)   Answer to Question of the Week:  Dorothy Parker said this about Katharine Hepburn.

2)  Bush hugging Long (?!?)

3)  R. Quaid - how could anyone let himself go like this?  Ugh!

4)  What a beautiful thing a rainbow is!  This painting is lovely.

This week's question: What (and where) is the world's largest banana?

Answer: It's right here.

When I was growing up (a long time ago), it was always claimed that the world's largest banana was at Coffs Harbour on the North coast of NSW 540 km north of Sydney.  Googling now does not show any other answer. It is a tourist attraction The Big Banana opened in 1964 standing 11 meters long, 5 meters high and 2.4 meters wide. I have driven past if often on the way to Queensland but do not remember ever stopping.

Australia went through a period of building these rather kitsch tourist things. large Pineapple, large Merino etc. Not a thing I am proud of and not the sort of thing I add to my travel itinerary. Grin

I have to say I was very touched by the latest TDS.    I was bullied in school,  I find very few people who were not bullied.   It didn't take much,  first it was because my mom took me to school.  OR when I started wearing glasses in 7th grade.  Or later when I had problems with acne.   They made me feel like there was something wrong with me,  and I couldn't figure out why they didn't like me.   Luckily I did make some friends in school,  we were all not the POPULAR kids or in the IN crowd.

I guess because my mom knew how to lift my low self-esteem I never considered ending it all.    I thought once I graduated school and entered the work force all that bullying crap was behind me.  But nope,  the 'mature' adults'  I thought I'd find on my entry into the 'adult' world must have been hiding.   The same juvenile attitudes were there in the work place too.  Only the stakes were higher.   In school you could get suspended or expelled.  At work being fired is no joke, especially when you lose that paycheck.

In fact I had my first encounter with an anti-semetic at the first place I worked for.    I also had a comment about my being Jewish and not needing my paycheck from my manager.  I was shocked to say the least.

I think something has to be done to teach kids from the time they enter school and into high school about what happens when you are bullied and how  you should handle it.  And where to get help.

I hope the cycle of suicides among bullied people can come to and end.

oh and I loved this quote

“Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made
a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life, but define yourself.”

Oh, Mia, Birger is one of the most beautiful babies I ever saw; he looks like a little baby angel.  You must be so proud.  He is just so adorable!  And his little baby boy clothes are the cutest things.

Love & Kisses to him from
