CANSTANDIT--
Yeah, my boyfriend pointed that out to me, too. Sorry about that! I was trying to send the Comanche Moon and Dark Knight links to both TDS and my boyfriend, and must've mixed them up.(That'll teach me to multi-task!)

I'll look up the link you gave me, thanks. The one I got through Google was in High Def--if that's the same one Jannis has, it's spectacular. It still amazes me that the same actor who completely melted into the role of a gay cowboy could be just as effective as The Joker. Ledger is creepy as hell...I'm sure looking forward to the movie. Not just for Ledger, but for Bale and Maggie, too.
Oh, me too...this is a cast that will rock, no question. I look forward to Comanche Moon, if I can get the chance to watch all of it-its doubtful! It's spread out over 3 nights, I believe.

Bobby - just let me say what an inspiration you are!!!!
As one of those hopefully nonjudgemental and mature (=wrinkly  Grin) women, yours is the story which can bring tears to my eyes.
More power to your elbow, people like you really can change the world for the better. But I think you know that.

From Jack, For Jack
By Cynical21

The voice that challenged silence
Has now gone dark and still;
I didn’t have time to tell you –
And now I never will;
To show you how you filled my life
With hope and light and laughter,
With new respite from broken dreams,
And morning smiles thereafter.
Sweet slumber undisturbed by fears,
Held fast and anchored in your heart
Where malice never entered,
Where darkness held no part.
I see you gripped in mourning,
In bouts of silent tears –
And ache to speak, to tell you
How much they meant – those years
When you stood close and held me,
In arms so true and strong,
And set my life to music,
My heart, my soul, my song.

Love them

« Reply #1883 on: January 16, 2008, 09:48:46 AM »

Hey, thanks again to the TDS team for continuing to produce a very nice sheet!

I just wanted to say that I loved the piece on Panic at the Disco (yeah, yeah, in my heart I'm a 15-year-old fan girl!)  But in all seriousness, how they are among a growing set of young bands/performers/you have it to whom it really makes no difference whether they are thought of as gay or straight.

This is fantastic news!

Marcia's chicken ranch must be the envy of the local sheep.  Great to see her profile.  Also sending up a prayer of thanks for Ellen's great work with TDS.

Hope their husbands have been "dancing" with them on this!

Great profile about Bobby -- he deserves kudos from the whole forum for that piece that ran in the East Valley Tribune.

And I can't imagine both stopping smoking and losing weight!  Shocked

I just wanted to let you know that I really loved Marge_Innavera's profile in TDS today.  Especially:

being able to honestly give, what is uniquely yours to give, is the foundation of a good life. And that everyone loses when we let ourselves believe that we can make exceptions to that.

What a wonderful thing to say - it really struck a cord with me and I'm going to quote it in my sig line!

Also, I love the bucket list idea... I'm going to give that some thought and hopefully post here later.

oh, you guys did it again -- thanks for such a nice goodbye as TDS editor.

As I responded to Dave's nice message -- sometimes when somebody says they are stepping down from a situation due to "personal reasons" it sounds so great -- although whenever I have had to do it, it's been a really tough decision.

My first week writing TDS, the taskmaster (not Dave) was thrilled just to see I could put two sentences together.   Grin

I remember when I was even thinking of volunteering to do it, I asked myself a million times, can I make the time for this?  Is it worth it?

I decided to go for it, and I am really proud of what it has turned into.  It has even fulfilled my goal of building my resume.  Amazing.

Thank to all of you who read TDS, and thanks to the absolutely golden team who are still working on TDS.  And to Dave, Meli, and KittyHawk who keep this place alive for us all.

Love
Ellen
