Matilda looks SO much like Heath in this version of the photo of her with her scooter. The expression on her face ....

And Michelle seems to be holding a cigarette on the first picture! I thought she'd stopped smoking? Or at least I thought a recent article said she was 'fiercly anti-smnoking' now?   Or did I just imagine that?

I saw a bit of an article yesterday where it said Michelle smoked as little as possible when playing Marilyn (who was a heavy smoker) because she didn't want to set a bad example to Matilda.
Michelle used to smoke, said the article, but is now passionately aniti-smoking, and it said, 'it used to upset her that Heath would chain smoke'

I think Michelle smokes now and again as I have seen her smoke betwen takes on film sets (examples Shutter Island and Blue Valentine) and on her recent date with Jason, but I have NEVER seen her smoke infront of Matilda, I am pretty sure she never would, I think maybe she was upset with Heath cos he did smoke infront of Matilda, but we will never know now

Well the article I saw must've been wrong, then. You can't be 'passionately anti-smoking' if you're a smoker yourself.

I don't think she ever quit and she probably has smoked in front of Matilda, smoking is an addiction.  I smoked for 30 years and finally quit 5 years ago.  I just don't think she does it in public very often.  Just remember she is human although I wish she would quit for her own health.

I remember Heath himself saying in an interview about a year before he died, something about how he'd only ever been addicted to one thing and that was nictotine. I can't remember his exact words but I remember what he said gave the impression he'd given up smoking - I assumed, because of Matilda. Obviously that wasn't the case either, so Michelle's no different in that respect.
Spose smoking is so frowned upon these days, one would rather lie than admit to still being addicted to the dreaded weed! Or indeed, try not to be seen smoking in public, if you're in the public eye and you've said you're 'passionately anti-smoking'!

I always remember, about a month after I'd stopped, finally realising how everything I owned stank of stale smoke, (I'd never been able to smell it before, of course!) all my clothes did as well, so presumably all Michelle's clothes do as well, as she's presumably smoked for many years. So the smell of smoke will cling to her and get into Matilda.
That's the sad bit about all parents that smoke. Poison yourself if you want to, it's your right, but your child has no choice to be affected by it.

exactly, Ellye.   smokers don't realize that smoke permiates their clothing and hair.  So even if you're not smoking directly in front of your kids they are still smelling the smoke on you.

I tend to think that Heath did try to quit, but it is so hard.  So I think he might have eventually stopped, especially for Matilda

I just saw that Jason Segel is confirmed to be in Australia May 3rd for premiere of 5 year engagement.  I wonder if Michelle and Matilda will go and maybe Matilda can see family?

it's the typical BS that US Weekly loves to spew.    Source said, what sources?   No one who knows Michelle or Heath would ever speak to those rags.    There was NO mistakes that Michelle made. They were in love.  It's taken a long time for her to come to terms with Heath being gone.    She has their little girl to raise on her own, that is a big responsibility.  sure she has her family and Heath's family to help her.   But there is this hole that will never be filled.  Matilda is still growing up without her daddy.

the rags just need to have something to put on their front cover.

I'm with you, I hope he treats both those girls like princesses and that they all have the time of their lives.  Life's way too short and they deserve all the happiness they can find.  I hope Michelle has written down all her memories of Heath for Matilda and puts them where they'll be safe for her when it's time.  I really do hope they go to Australia so  they can visit with Heath's family.  I think they have all become close and I hope when Michelle is sure that they also include her new man so it isn't so awkward.  We all just want to see those girls happy.

she was in Japan last month to promote the Marilyn movie.  I'm thinking that she might have seen them when she was in that part of the world.
