I thought Anne looked stunning through out the Awards....but she looked sensational in the tux with high heels. Her legs seemed to go on forever.

There were some mixed reviews for Anne Hathaway and James Franco as co-hosts of the Oscars.  I did see Franco stall out a little, at times, but that was way over-balanced by the better that he did.  The ratings were also reported as down by 9% from the previous year, but, then, what about the demographics?  I would guess they did extremely well, there.  All I know is...I enjoyed it!

Anne, you rocked !!!! And Franco was also great!  Good job!

Has anyone seen "One Day?"  It came out last Friday and I was looking forward to it, I think Anne is amazingly talented...it's getting mixed reviews, even the good ones aren't very good...

I was wondering this myself, Nancy.

I know that it seems to be getting very little press, and I've barely seen any commercials for it on tv here.

I read it was ruined by her ever-changing accent.  Don't know how it would sound to non-English English speakers!

some said it was a mixture of scottish, irish and american but NOT english

americans probably wont even notice

as much as I love anne why couldnt they just have cast an english actress there is plenty of them, it didnt even have to be a big name, they could of given an unknown actress her big break

Mick LaSalle, SF Chron loved it:

"One Day" is a beautiful movie, but beautiful in a way that life often is, not movies. Nothing is sudden or easy, either for the characters or for the audience, and there are no thunderbolts from the blue. Rather, the film achieves its effects and builds toward a wealth of feeling through an accumulation of seemingly day-to-day incidents, presented over the course of years. We meet two people, and with time and maturity, the towering consequence of their relationship reveals itself.

Peter Travers from Rolling Stone hated it:

This tear-jerking twaddle, adapted by David Nicholls from his 2009 bestseller, is nearly as bad as Anne Hathaway's British accent, which is heading for infamy. Hathaway plays Emma Morley, an idealist in a world of the cheap and superficial, repped by Dexter Mayhew (real Brit Jim Sturgess), the rich stud she pines for. Director Lone Scherfig, toppling from her peak with An Education, follows these ill-fated lovers for two decades one day each year, starting July 15th, 1988. By the 1990s, I was begging for mercy. One day? Like hell. The movie feels like a life sentence.

it's at 5.9 @ IMDb...most critic reviews are...highly critical

I was intrigued by the description of this movie and would like to see it despite the negative reviews. I have a feeling one might need to have at least 4 decades under one's belt to appreciate it. When I was in my 20s, I had a very different response (generally bored) to a film about two people and their relationship as the years passed. I think now I'd get much more out of such a movie (obviously).  Smiley

I'm watching Anne in "Becoming Jane" right now...her acting, as well as her British accent, is impeccable...it only makes me admire her more...

Well, what do I know?

I'll give you a pass next time you do a Philly accent in a 2 hour movie.   Shocked
