Congrats, Dave! Thanks for making this forum THE place to go for all things Brokeback.

Makes you kinda wonder if Ang, Heath, Jake and anyone else connected with BBM has already visited this site.

Anonymously, of course...

Dave, congratulations, this is wonderful! You should provide pointers to some of the best topics/areas. I would suggest My Brokeback stories, Photo captioning thread (then again maybe not!  Wink), Main Discussion, I don't know, but make it easy for them to find the good stuff...

Let me add my voice to the chorus of praise here for you, Dave. You have done exactly the right thing at exactly the right time, and you deserve all the media coverage and the praise for the fine work that  you have done. My cowboy hat comes off to you!  Grin

And oh, what plans are you making to keep this community afloat once the DVD sales of Brokeback Mountain begin to taper off (as, alas, they must)? I know that you are thinking, big-time, about this. I just would like to know what you have in mind.... Cheesy

Jpq716, one of the projects being tossed around for the future is a book! We've got the beginnings of a discussion about what sort of book over at  http://davecullen.com/forum/index.php?topic=1082.0. If this interests you, or if you have some ideas about what should be in the book, how it should be organized, who the target audience would be, who the authors should be, etc., etc. let us here from you over there.

Thanks,
KittyHawk

Hey thought you guys might want to know this!  Today in the Chicago Tribune Sunday Paper in The Chicago Tribune Magazine is an article titled "Decoding Brokeback", Why Women Get It And Men Don't Go.  The article is by Brendan Tapley.  Somebody will have to show me how to link it here or if I can copy it here.  One paragraph which tells why the writer went to see BBM alone.  " I realize I didn't want company at all.  I wanted the pleasure of undivided attention.  Brokeback Mountain deserves such quiet.  It is a film that feels like a Catholic confessional-private, solemn, intimate.  Even though it's an anonymous encounter for the moviegoer, it singles out everyone watching.  Every time I've gone the walls of the room fall away.  Even though there's a sellout crowd, there's no one else around you.  The movie provokes the silence of internal confrontation.  The kind summoned on long drives and 3 a.m wakeups."  WOW!!  This is a wonderful article!

So if it is OK to copy article here or explain to me how to link(tho you have to be a subscriber to paper to get the article online), I would be happy to do it so everybody here can read this wonderful article.
