19. Did you force yourself to detox from BBM due to unhealthy lifestyle since watching the movie?

exactly. i think you should get 20 points for that one.

to force the metaphor, an alcoholic can be somebody who downs 12 drinks a day, or somebody down to zero.

god, i'm only a one.

but i think i deserve extra points for not just spending a lot of time on the web with it but STARTing a website on it. hehehe.

and the question about listening to the CD over and over, i think that's a sign of a non brokebackaholic. a true holic can't bear to hear that music.

and my shrink has forbidden me from seeing the film again.

Erm.  Fire the shrink, Dave.  Fire the shrink!

22. Do you sneak out of your kids' movie (Nanny MacPhee) at exactly the right time for the tent scene in theater #2 because you have all the scenes clocked and know when they end and start?

23. Do you go off to study and find yourself in the theater watching the movie instead?

24. Do you try to think of friends who won't go alone to the movie so you can kindly take them (and thus make it appear that you are not addicted)?

I should get extra points for being gay and living in Wyoming but where do I buy the coffee cup?

The NJ Courier Post story on us is going wider:

If you have not heard, a prominent New Jersey paper, the Courier Post, dedicated its Sunday Magazine Living Section to Brokeback this weekend. Four pieces, and the lead article, "Moved by Brokeback Mountain," features this site, including a link to us, an interview with me, and quotes from multiple other members. (Thanks so much for everyone who worked with the author, Robert Baxter, a great guy who has also spent a great deal of time here.

A lot of our group has also enjoyed the "Are you a Brokeaholic?" Quiz. (See comments above.)

I just got this email from Robert:

Quote
hi, dave. just wanted to share with you the good news. my brokeback mountain package has been picked up by the gannett news service and will be available to about 100 newspapers across the country. it's already being reprinted this weekend by a paper in north jersey. thanks, again, for your help. best regards, robert baxter

(My emphasis.)

So look for the piece in NJ and elsewhere this weekend, and the following days, and do let us know. (Post here.) Thanks

The direct link to the piece featuring us is:

Way to go, Dave!

What Jack remembered and craved in a way he could neither help nor understand was the time that distant summer on Brokeback when Ennis had come up behind him and pulled him close, the silent embrace satisfying some shared and sexless hunger.

I'm totally flabbergasted by the amount of press BBM has generated and if this most recent 100 newspapers doesn't get us a BO bump/hump I don't think anything (short of a total Oscars blitz) can.  WoW!

The newspaper story was great. And once again, thank you Dave for creating this opportunity.

I hope that moderators are ready, the more publicity this blog gets more likely it will bring als people who want set record "straight" with us.
