The story has a blurb on the FRONT PAGE of www.rogerebert.com and the full story can be found at http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060309/SCANNERS/60309006

Thank you Jim Emerson!

I am speechless. Just too much.

I have to say, this is THE LAST site in the world I expected this.

Could I be any happier?

And what does that say about Roger Ebert? Would we have put a Crash-loving story on our site? I am pretty damn impressed by him/them. He is officially Classiest Guy Ever.

And very grateful to both Ebert, and especially Jim Emerson. (And Jim just sent me a really nice email, unsolicited.) What a nice guy.

And this is a little risky, but I'm going to give ourselves a little pat on the back, too. We resisted the urge to go negative, and look where it got us. Pretty damn far! The headline reads, " 'Brokeback' fans offer love, not hate." Where would we be right now if we had given in to our anger and run a bitter, vengeful ad? Certainly not on the Ebert site.

Man. I feel like I'm having an Oprah aha moment. hahahaha. But really. It feels good that we did the right thing. We should all feel proud.

Thanks for that. It's only the last minute and a half, though. Is the rest anywhere?

(Helen UK was nice enough to tape and send us a copy, but I'm not sure if we've managed to upload it anywhere yet.)

I applaud the framers of this ad for wisely taking the High Road and simply thanking the makers of this movie for making it.( wow...accidental Rufus Wainwright reference) The massive number of accolades, honers and awards it's already recieved, combined with it's box office success is devastating and conclusive evidence that is was WRONGED by the academy intentionally.  All of these factors speak for themselves very loudly and there is really no need for a screaming match.  Those who support the outcome of this years Oscars know, deep down, that something is amiss.  There is simply too much evidence to deny it.

To Dave and his (best superlative ever) crew...Thanks Thanks Thanks. Not just for the ad and what it may do for all involved in BBM but for all of us to express ourselves. This is our Brokeback Mountain where the air is clean and the space is wide.

Nkburlington, I must be out of the loop: What's ''cfrb''? ... Thanks!

Sorry, it's a Toronto news talk radio station:  1010 CFRB (www.cfrb.com).

I too have always respected Ebert, up until this episode.  I keep telling myself to give it time before I finalize judgement on him.  Who is Jim Emerson??  Ebert's editor or boss or does he work for Ebert?

The BBM Theater Ad in the San Antonio Express News shows something I've never seen before.  It shows the following around Heath and Jake and above the "Academy Award Winner. . ."  The new print shows:

ACROSS AMERICA AND
AROUND THE WORLD LOVE
IS A FORCE OF NATURE!

Thank you to all the moviegoers & organizations
who have made "Brokeback" the most talked
about and celebrated movie of the year.

"ANG LEE'S UNMISSABLE
FILM IS A LANDMARK!"

I'm not able to scan it correctly -- please check your morning papers and see if the above has been added.
It looks great.
Since Boston reports it -- it must be a national addition -- perhaps from Focus?

edited to update also seen in Boston.

I just contacted Variety to purchase some copies of today's issue and I was told that every copy is sold out because of an unexpected run on today's issue! I can't get to a store that is selling it and I can't find anyone I know that can. If anyone out there is willing to pick me up a copy I would really appreciate it. wyo_men@hotmail.com or d.lankford@bresnan.net Love you all!
