The only sad point about the celebrations was of course Prince Phillip being taken to hospital, hope he gets better soon, I have always been proud to be english but this weekend has made me even more proud, I watched it almost all bank holiday weekend I was hooked, the fireworks at the end were amazing, god save the queen!

I wish I'd had opportunity to watch. I love reading English history, and to this Yank, anyway, the Queen seems a living representative of that history. Congratulations to her and to all!  Smiley

I felt so sorry--and embarrassed--for Prince Phillip; imagine having the whole world told you've got a bladder infection! Eeew. ...  Tongue

Anyone see any of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations at the weekend? alot of the american artists didnt seem to know the reason for the celebration and a few of them shouted out 'Happy Birthday' to the queen, how cringe worthy!!!, if you are invited to something like this, please do your research! it had nothing to do with her birthday,

Maybe YOU should do a bit of research:

http://projectbritain.com/royal/birthday.htm

It is every boy and girl's dream to have two birthdays in one year; well, our Queen is very lucky because she has two birthdays, one in April and one in June.

When is the Queen's real birthday?

The Queen's actual birthday is on 21 April, she was born on 21 April 1926.

When does the Queen have her public and official birthday?

It has long been customary to celebrate the Sovereign’s birthday publicly on a day during the summer, when better weather is more likely.

How is The Queen's real birthday marked?

To mark the real borthday of The Queen, a 41 gun royal salute is fired by the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery in Hyde Park at 12:00 noon. There is also a 62-gun royal salute fired by the Honourable Artillery Company at the Tower of London at 1:00pm.

Gun salutes are customarily fired, both on shore and at sea, as a sign of respect or welcome.

No particular ceremony is held on The Queen's true birthday, although the Union Flag is flown on public buildings.

How is The Queen's 'official' birthday marked?

Since 1805, the Sovereign’s 'official' summer birthday has been marked by the Trooping the Colour ceremony, which is also known as the Queen's Birthday Parade, and is normally held on the second Saturday in June.

Wednesday means the second episode of Dog City Guru.

Thursday is the premiere of another Hope series... this one is Saving Hope. Perhaps it is set in Chicago which was the last setting for a decent show with hope in the title. Previews do not look promising even for a summer series.

Watching re-runs, I came across the NCIS episode introducing a new, gay probie, Ned Dorneget.  Only one further appearance I could find, so I guess he was a token, for purposes of tidying up the agency's morbid history on that issue.

Hmmmm.  Somebody here posted their undying commitment to the AGT singer/war hero. The Military Times is now questioning his claims, and there beith now a sudden deletion, as far as I can tell. C'mon, now.  Fess up.  It's not all that bad.  Maybe he's a new form of Blutbad : GrenadeVanisher  Smiley ?

So, Tim Poe was not injured while serving in the military? That should be easy enough to prove/disprove. If he's a liar about something like that, I'm moving him to the back of the bus, just behind the pole dancer.

Dogs in the City is ok, I guess.  But it is very annoying to see very neurotic people transferring their "issues" onto their canines.  I have this strange urge to, well, bite them.

Be glad you're not in the biz.
Although, I have to say, I am lucky enough not to have to deal with too many of those... the occasional one who gets passed my gut instinct is more than enough.
This show is either sponsored by a Bully breeder or the breed is over represented in NYC!

Two new primetime offerrings from FOX tonight, both dating shows to a certain degree.
Take Me Out or something like that has a panel of 30 women who listen to male contestants and decide if they are interested in going on a date with him. Somewhat similar to The Dating Game from way back when. Hosted by George Lopez.
The Choice has 4 "celebrity" bachelors sitting in the reversable chairs borrowed from The Voice. With their backs turned, they have to decide whether or not they are interested in a date with the woman on stage who entices them with comments about herself and what her ideal date would be like. Each bachelor chooses a "team" of 3 women and then narrows it down to just one with whom he is going to go out and report back the next week. Hosted by Kat Someone who I think was on So/Dance or some other show.
It beats the home shopping network.

I checked out Breaking Pointe last evening. I had not watched the first episode because shortly before it aired I read something, somewhere, that led me to believe it would be all about angsty, anorectic ballerinas, and that I don't need. However, there wasn't anything else on, so I checked it out, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the show features a sufficient number of hot balletboys to hold my interest.  Grin

Actually, I'm kind of fascinated by the family story of the two brothers. They have three other siblings, and they're all in ballet--another brother dances with the San Francisco Ballet, and two sisters are in training at the SF Ballet school.

And Katie, the young lady who didn't get offered a contract with Ballet West and is now going to dance in Idaho ( Shocked ) seems really sweet.

I also want to see more of Petite Mort, the ballet they are shown rehearsing. It looks really fascinating, sexy and exciting (it involves swords at some point). I wish Pennsylvania Ballet would do that, or something like it. It looks more interesting than some stuff I've seen them do.  Roll Eyes

I don't think this show will become "appointment viewing" for me, but I will try to keep track of when it airs and probably watch it when I can, if and when it doesn't conflict with something I value more highly.
