Just looked at the flyer from my local PBS station.  Good news: they're running "Sherlock" the first three Sunday evenings in May.  I don't know if that's all there are, or they skipped it on the 27th fto run a Memorial Day program instead.  Anyhow, if you didn't see the first shows, this isn't one of the Victorian-era series; it's set in contemporary London, and has a sense of play, including some sly gayishness.

I belatedly saw that Obama is a fan of Showtime's "Homeland."  As I understand it,  he thinks it may be overly-dramatic, but the situations are persuasive and the character development and the complexity make it well worth his occasional relaxation time.  If you are one of those who knows that anyhing he's fur you're agin, you have yet another reason to skip the show.  Your loss.

(I hadn't realized until reading about this that Damien Lewis, who plays war hero/perhaps terrorist, is speaking in a foreign accent.  He's yet another tip-flight British actor.)

I saw that on PBS too. I like Sherlock BUT I seem to fall asleep during every one! Maybe if I watched during primetime instead of the rerun after midnight....

Another goody on tonight's Revenge. It's one of those shows that make you look at the clock in disbelief when the last commercial break comes on.

I like Sherlock and Homeland.
We have seen the last series of Sherlock here already, as to  Homeland,..........still gripped. Damien Lewis takes on quite a lot of American parts for some reason, he is very good at them. He is not the only English actor in Homeland, David Harewood is a Brit too, and is also very good.

Speaking of Mentalist!  Mary-Lou Henner is on Piers Morgan right now talking about her unbelievable memory. It's absolutely amazing,  I'm freaking out!  I can barely remember what I did yesterday.

The drag queen plot line on The Mentalist turned out to be one of the best mainstream  tv unravellings of abusive people I have seen in a long while.  So many suspects, gay, straight, and, of course, the usual homophobic punk.
I thought I caught something visually that pointed to the wildly unexpected ending, but just didn't follow through on it, and so was very much admiring the plot twist.  Great writing, great casting, and memorable for exposing the ways of the world and yet not wallowing in the morbid.
They all knocked it out of the park !

Maurice is the only other movie to have had such an impact on me other than BBM. What a great ensemble piece and with that unmistakable Merchant Ivory touch.  The music also became so much more to me than a movie score, just as BBM did. Has it ever been shown on mainstream tv in the states Lyle or just hbo or something?
that burly lad climbing up the ladder and into bed scene made me all moist and tingly.  sigh.

I agree, 'hunnerd percent! I thought it was a totally awesome episode. I'm not too clever; they really got me with the final ending/plot twist. I must admit, however, that I was half-expecting the homophobic punk to turn out to be gay.  Roll Eyes

A couple of side points:

It seems to me the writers have been "lightening up" a bit on the Lisbon character, and I'm glad of it. It seems to me that they've been injecting a bit more humor into some of her dialogue with Jane. For me this is a good thing; when the series began, I actually didn't like Lisbon.  Roll Eyes

And I am so loving the Summer-Cho plot line! I love Summer!  Grin  Something I caught in last night's episode: At the end of their scene together, when Summer brought Cho lunch, Tim Kang cracked a smile. It was just a little smile, and I think if you blinked you would have missed it, but I'm wondering whether it was intentional, or whether Tim actually broke character for just a teeny moment because the Summer-Cho scenes are so much fun!

I agree, Linda: This was one of the best Mentalist episodes in a long, long time!

BTW, did anyone else see the TV Guide article about the episode? The actor who played the "Drag Mom" is not a drag performer, but he used to be head back-up dancer for Madonna!  Cheesy

Are there lesser degrees of this?  I can't remember every day of my life but I can remember quite a few of them!

I think I remember   Grin  reading somewhere that the character played by Poppy Montgomery on Unforgettable is "inspired" by Marilu Henner.  Of course, the twist in Unforgettable is that Montgomery's character's mother has Alzheimer's Disease, and Marilu did a guest spot as Montgomery's aunt, who is also developing Alzheimer's.

I should have recorded it, because it is one I would like to revisit, it was that well done.

I loved the fact that the whole team worked so hard on this case, and was not the least bit put off by ANY of the characters, and did their best work to find the perpetrator. (no spoilers here in case others want to see it) The team was all invested in the case, emotionally and intellectually.

I did love the entrance to the bathroom scene between Rigsby and Carla?

It is really worth seeing if folks can find the full episode on CBS.com
I don't think it will be available till next week though.

And I do agree, Jeff, about Lisbeth's character being more loose. A much better representation of her!
