Mike's demise has been covered all over the news, entertainment and internet. It's hardly a secret. One of the producers even gave it away in open court at the Housewives trial last week before the episode aired.

Last night. The Voice : some excellent performances and some not so good, but, clearly, the judges are trying to knock out some of their weaker choices, and then are surprised the wish-they-would- go-aways got much better.
The judges are driving me nuts.  I loved all of them, but, now, here and there, I see the inevitable corrupting influences of the entertainment industry.

Smash has characters I enjoy and admire to watch.  But the story-line is just a format to get them on screen.  This is a very sexy show, BTW.  At least to me.

Both make Monday nights very difficult, as I don't like having to put other things to the side.  Haven't regretted doing that yet, though.

Not missing either of these Monday night shows... The Voice I catch on weekends (as many times as I choose.)
I stand by my assessment of Smash as adult Glee.

And on Tuesdays...
gonna be fun seeing Jamie Lee Curtis on NCIS again next week.
But next week is the season finale of The River. Tonight's episode had my hair standing on end! No what I usually like, but I've thoroughly enjoyed the whole season.

I wasn't particularly impressed. It's just a bunch of designers presenting a couple designs, getting feedback from the "mentors" and bids... or as in most cases NOT, getting bids from  the 3 stores. Guess Tim and Heidi spoiled me with giving the designers a particular project each week instead of letting them decide what they wanted to do. It may be more interesting down the road, at least, I hope so.

Somebody I know on another forum just said that about the end of "hard copy" publication of the Encyclopedia Britannica. I guess any way you look at, Western Civilzation is going to hell on in-line skates.

Actually, Twitter may well save civilization.  Smiley
what he said.  its easy to tune out the narcissists.  you only see words from those you choose to, unlike a forum like this.  oh how i have longed for an ignore button in here at times.

and now its time for my weekly plug for phillip phillips.  i don't see the show, i just wait a day or so and look him up on youtube.  he got a standing O on this one, and i'm kinda shocked.  he's as unique in his way as adam lambert was in his.  oddest of all, steven tyler slipped in the only solid piece of advice i've heard from the judges.

here you go, for those who can watch youtube...

http://youtu.be/fr78RilGrsk

i invariably wind up grinning by half way through.  the studio version is not surprisingly much better.

Cee Lo's Cat

from zap2it.com

NBC’s hit singing competition “The Voice” has returned for a second season, and this year’s most talked about judge is the white Persian cat found sitting in Cee Lo Green’s lap.

Fellow coach Blake Shelton revealed to Vulture.com how the ball of fluff came to be: "I do remember in Season 1, I remember when [Cee Lo] actually had the idea to have the cat. I remember him saying, to me, into my ear hole, 'I want a cat. I want to be able to sit here and pet a cat while I’m on "The Voice."'"

Cee Lo’s wish came true for Season 2, as he picked out the pretty white Persian cat to be his team’s mascot, naming her Purrfect.

Here’s the kicker — Cee Lo actually rents Purrfect from Benay’s Bird & Animal Rentals, a company providing professionally-trained animals in Hollywood. Even though he doesn’t own the white fluff-ball, Purrfect is still one of the most buzzed-about cats on the Internet; she has a Twitter account with more than 33,000 followers and around 10,000 "likes" on Facebook.

Despite Purrfect’s popularity, one fellow coach isn’t a fan.

"I don't like cats, so I stay away," Shelton professed. "I love Cee Lo, but I avoid him when he’s holding that smelly cat."

One judge that does respect Cee Lo’s decision to bring the furry feline on TV is Adam Levine, who stopped by “Anderson” to reveal which animal he would pick for his team’s mascot:

I didn't know that. I didn't watch this week because I thought it was just going to be a rerun. I like her.

oh how i have longed for an ignore button in here at times.

Uh, me, too. ...

hell, i even converse with john dean if anyone remembers who he is.

Shocked  Good heavens! You mean he's not dead yet?

(Coincidentally, E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy were both questions/answers on Jeopardy! last night. And I have a vague memory of somebody--probably Mark Russell--doing a kind of parody song about Haldeman, Erlichman, Mitchell, and Dean.)
