There are those repeats, Jack.  But also, if you have a smoothly humming computer, you can go to the network sites, NBC.com. for instance, get to the show page, and re-play the last, or other episodes.

yeah tony, that's what i meant by on demand. for a while there you could catch up with whole seasons.  of late they have been doing their level best to monetize the on demand viewing.  some you can only see if you have a pay cable setup, others, like glee, make you wait a whole week before the previous episode opened.  i just signed up for streaming netflix, and they are supposed to have tv sho0ws on tap, but i haven't figure out how to locate the menu... yet.

And SOME shows, apparently, are on the computer BEFORE they're aired on tv. April (Passion) was watching Downton Abbey Sunday afternoons before it played that night.

Continuing with my non-TV world, I'd had a major setback and disappointment.  My next series, which was to see me through the summer and into fall, 9 seasons of All Creatures Great & Small, is no longer available.  The error message I get is that it's not available to stream OR to purchase.

I have moved on to Doc Martin, which is a delight.  And LG has rec'd Inspector Lewis, PBS, which is also free streaming, so that's on my list...but I do miss All Creatures...

Unfortuneately, another favorite, I, Claudius, is also not available...that one was my first real introduction to British programming - all gorgeous guys with brit accents, lots of sex, lies, deception, murder, adultery, cover-ups, sex...originally aired in UK in 1976, I first saw it in 1979, and promptly named my somewhat less than robust cat (he was little, and had a broken tail) Claudius...

eta: but, gee, look what i'm missing in prime time:

Modern Family 2/29:
Claire is watching tv and she is crying while watching tv, meanwhile Alex and Haley are really grumpy and Phil realizes that the three of them are on their period together on the day he most loved that has not turned into the day he most dreads.

It's a great day for family watching...especially for girls watching with their dads.   Embarrassed

what's wrong with just sex, lies, deception, murder, adultery, cover-ups, sex??  In the guise of historical fact, of course.....those Romans really knew how to throw an orgy....

If you liked Morse, I think you'll enjoy Lewis too.  And have you seen Foyle's War - detective series set in WW2?  I liked that a lot.

Morse is a l-o-n-g series, set in Oxford - and Lewis is the follow-on to that.  But on the whole every story stands alone, so probably wouldn't matter seeing them out of order, Nancy.

That sounds great.  l-o-n-g is exactly what I'm looking for, something I can get wrapped up in...

Morse is a real classic here in the UK Smiley.

"The series comprises 33 two-hour episodes (100 minutes excluding commercials) — 20 more episodes than there are novels — produced between 1987 and 2000".  And the standard keeps up pretty well throughout.

Awake
I watched the premiere episode last night and found it somewhat believable and mildly entertaining.
Right up to the moment I fell asleep. I missed the part where the two different cases... one for each dream world... became one and was solved. Which I think means I missed the whole point.
I'll try again next week, partly because I'm interested but mostly because Thursday are such a moonscape of nada.

And Tony, ONE Asian.

Oh, and the previews of next week's show indicate a... wait for it... conspiracy which set this whole thing in motion in the first place.
How different.

i did a little youtube research on a few of the contestants i saw reviewed, and, while it won't have me watching the show, i did find one of the chosen interesting.  he has the unfortunate name of phillip phillips.  he may not be ripe yet, but he is someone i would go to a club to hear.  i think he may have a career, but probably not a pop career, unless a band picks him as a front man.  just thought i would share that.
