Thank you, Summer Tv Gods, for AGT. Amen.

Now, maybe next year I will remember how they cut from 357-1/2 acts to a third of that in the first 5 minutes in Vegas. (Yes, that's an exaggeration, a slight exaggeration.) But it certainly took care of their Poe problem without even mentioning it. And the 6 acts that were not on either board... well they should have kept the acrobats and dumped the cannonballer. You see one guy shot out of a cannon, you've already seen them all. Million dollar act? Not in a million years!

Michelle Williams will guest star on 'Cougar Town' (eventually)

By Jean Bentley
June 25, 2012 1:27 PM ET

One of the most adorable, long-lasting Hollywood relationships is the BFF-ship between Michelle Williams and Busy Philipps. Now, TV viewers everywhere will benefit from their friendship when Williams guest stars on Philipps' show, "Cougar Town," once the sitcom makes the move to TBS.

While series star Courteney Cox has been able to recruit her "Friends" pals and costars Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow for guest spots, it looks like it's Philipps' turn to bring in some heavy-hitters.

In a recent interview with the Huffington Post, Williams says that she's really looking forward to guest starring on "Cougar Town." "My friend Busy Philipps is on a TV show and I'd really like to guest star on her show," she says. "I'd like to do a little guest spot."

Although nothing is official, Williams says she can't see it not happening. "We've been talking about it enough that I'm sure it's going to happen. I loved the crossover they did with 'Community,'" she says. "I really want to. I'm sure that we will at some point. I think they've got a couple more years on the show, so, I think we can find a way."

I'll watch the night Michelle Williams is one. But it sounds like it won;t be for quite a while.

Well, wrong again!
Tonight's AGT has none other than Tim Poe. How much in advance of airing are these taped?

The first cut to the 48 is made... actually the SECOND cut since 3 were put straight through to New York yesterday.
In my opinion, the judges mostly got it right:
the 2 best comics, 1 of the kid acts, the correct 2 dance teams, male singers, duos (well, ONE of them is ok and the other not so much in my book,) the 2 best illusion acts, novelty acts... so they fell down on this one, except I like the comedic ventriloquist a lot.

Tomorrow the stand bys compete for the remaining places....

Damn, what am I gonna do on Thursday?

That's good to know, although you couldn't tell it by watching his show.  He curses a blue streak in front of diners in his restaurant.

And he has a new show starting, called Hotel Hell...I guess he goes into disgusting hotels and makes them over...gotta pay for college for those 4 kids of his somehow  Smiley

AGT
have to cut from 150 acts to 20. I'm sitting there, watching this jam packed show, thinking "Man, they're really getting a lot done in just an hour!" And we were more than an hour and a HALF into the show!
And once again, they got the cut pretty close to right. A few "what are they thinking" decisions. But there has to be some fodder!
I love this show. And Howard Stern has only improved it.

Just watched Channing Tatum on Letterman. I'm not a big fan of the show but Channing was adorably sexy pushing his movie Magic Mike and displaying an impressive  crotch.
