Anyone see any of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations at the weekend? alot of the american artists didnt seem to know the reason for the celebration and a few of them shouted out 'Happy Birthday' to the queen, how cringe worthy!!!, if you are invited to something like this, please do your research! it had nothing to do with her birthday, the performances were abit hit and miss, the worst one Cheryl Cole, ok for once she did sing live but now we know why she mimes most of the time she cant sing!  my ears were bleeding, I will post it in the listening thread soon, you lucky things!!!! Tongue, the only sad point about the celebrations was of course Prince Phillip being taken to hospital, hope he gets better soon, I have always been proud to be english but this weekend has made me even more proud, I watched it almost all bank holiday weekend I was hooked, the fireworks at the end were amazing, god save the queen!

Master Chef started last night, with part 2 tonight, and Hell's Kitchen, which I don't like as much, is also new.  I really wish they would stop saying fuck all the time, listening to that bleeper is annoying...and they're adults, they can't go an hour w/o swearing?  Ramsey encourages it, of course.

And the Cubs are on, so no need to watch the other summer junk...

Didn't watch one second of the queen thing from london, and managed to avoid all the slobbering specials about it, too.

... and it made me proud to be Canadian!  Smiley

I didn't see much on TV, but have been checking the Daily Mail site for days!

Now that it is almost over, I am hoping we get the full coverage..  or maybe a DVD would be nice.

Marz, there has been heavy coverage over here.  NBC did a two hour program a few days ago. CNN has had regular reporting.  And the concert will be on ABC, at 9 PM EST, even though it's over.
All of you Brits and Commonwealthies have much to be proud of.  She's done a good job.

The only thing I saw that bothered me, a little, was the Queen riding in her carriage, with Camilla at her side.  I kind of think that's palace PR, getting the public ready for accepting Camilla as Queen consort, when originally the understanding had been she would never be Queen but only a consort, similar to Prince Phillip's never having been given the crown matrimonial.
Otherwise, please be sure, all of us are very happy for you guys and wish we had beeen there !  It looked like great fun, aside from the history.

Good grief, are you kidding me?!!  I was watching Piers Morgan and the royal ass-kissing made me so ill I had to change the channel.  I am completely mystified by monarchies. What is the appeal?!!   A bunch of inbreds waving and looking at things.   Whut?

I just watched Oprah interviewing David and Neil and I have to say it was great interview, a keeper on my PVR.   Very insightful, just beautiful!

So I now have my second contestant to root for... Andrew Somebody, the goth opera singer. Great natural talent and wonderful story.
So much fun!

Love in the Wild
did not disappoint. A number of switcheroos and twists. Like starting with 7 guys and 7 gals. And adding another 7 guys. And accommodations have been changed from last year. I'm ready for next week.
