Yes, Doods, you did call it first on Christina.  As for Levine, the alleged melt-down may have been more recent than the shows you saw. As in, the last 72 hours.

I don't know.  There are some reasons I have wondered about CA, and some remarks she made last season, but said to myself, nah. And I've wanted to like her.  Now, am just wondering, why should I care?  They might be playing all this to hype the ratings, and, if so, well, rolled again  Tongue.
As for Chris, I can see why you like him.  Actually, I like him, too.  But I think he's mangled 2 of my favorite songs, where he didn't have to.  Tony Lucca's "How do you like me now?" was what got me rooting for him.
Seriously, however it turns out, what may be interesting is the fan base for type of music, rather than who was best. Am de-investing rapidly.

But that's the truth with all these audience participation shows. Look how long some "dancers" last on D/S simply because people like their OTHER occupation. And better dancers go home early because they don't have a fan base.

DO you like Il Divo? I don't "care" either way, I would just like to know if Chris' background has much to do with you not liking him. For instance,
I have a dislike for rap "music" and popping/hip hopping/break "dancing" and that always colors my perceptions of those artists as people. And then an Iced Tea comes along while Snoop sounds articular and thoughtful on talk shows. (Still waiting for a pseudo-dancer to impress me....)

Oilgun, I really appreciate your restraint when talking (NOT talking) about Missing. I can hardly wait for Thursday!

.... I would just like to know if Chris' background has much to do with you not liking him. For instance....
Well, they kept calling his background, "classical training".  But the guy really just specialized in opera.  Which is ok, and you do gotta go Italian and roll your "r" s.  But with his great vocal abilities, he should have dropped that when doing American songs, and he never did. Even Ave Maria, where classical might have been appropriate, was butchered.
Also, he was a camera-hogger, always insinuating himself behind others being interviewed.

Juliet was the only one (other than Jamar) who had a distinct voice that would be long-term special.  All the others (yes, including Tony Lucca) were just average, IMO.
Am over it.  I think the stories about Aguilera and Levine and Lucca are true, but the 2 judges will move on.  But I'll never forget the snottiness of CA over someone from the old days who didn't make it.  She's past being a diva.  She's ugly.

And Il Divo?

Classical training is not easily discarded just because you are singing rock and roll. There is a different tone, richness and strength to a classically trained voice than to an untrained but otherwise good voice.

There were several WOMEN this year who had really strange voices and singing quirks. Sounded like they were singing in whispers or around a mouthful of peanuts or through hiccups. Totally unappealing in my book no matter how different from the norm. Unusual does not necessarily equate to better or even good.

There do not seem to be many current singers... name singers... with better than ho hum voices. No Dean Martins or Andy Williamses or Perry Comos. These days, performances are all about performing... "dancing," stomping around the stage, dressing up or down... rather than singing. At least Elvis sounded good when he did all that.

Jack, I hope you did catch the start of the second season of Sherlock.  The UK has already seen all of them, I believe. But in case you missed it, there was more of the psychosexual.  In fact, I think they are all subliminally, bi-sexually, kinked out on each other (including Moriarty and Holmes).  But, they're British, so, we can't be completely sure  Smiley.
Next time, "The Hound of the Baskervilles", updated.

It's getting to be mammoth awful, all these FINAL TWO EPISODES, for so many shows, all saying, you gotta see this !!!!  I'll be glad when that's over.  Then I can pick and choose from the Olympics and re-runs, and not stress out.
Darn. I forgot. Big Brother, the most covertly watched show of all, will be starting, and I will again be addicted to ridiculous garbage that leaves me strangely aroused and satisfied  Tongue.  It may be this year that I pretend am not watching it, just like the 14 million others who have been doing that.  I know they won't have the return of the rowdy CBS forum.  They pulled the plug on that last summer.

the 2nd season?  this seemed to be the departure point for the series with sherlock for all intents and purposes seducing watson into becoming his companion.  the last episode hinted that sherlock somehow rescued grace adler from being beheaded, but the teaser seemed to hint at the hounds for the next.

Hey, Tony. ABC is working on a new program...The Glass House... and is being sued by CBS who claims it is stealing it from Big Brother. According to CBS, ABC has hired over a dozen people, including several writers, producers, etc, who worked on BB to develop GH.

And I have it on good authority that NBC is working on something similiar, calling it Hal and Pal.

Just what I needed.  New tv addictions.  Especially ones inevitably looked down on by others.  Oh, well, we'll see  Smiley.

Well we finally got some history on Finch's personal life, last night on "Person of Interest".
Fit very well into the story line.

And a strange twist in "The Mentalist" leading into next week's finale.
