Side by side photos to show you the difference 3 weeks can make in a pup's size.
On the left is one of my 7 weeks old pups with a reindeer toy and on the right, Esther at 4 weeks with the same toy.

It's amazing the difference 3 weeks makes!

When Pete the Penguin stepped down from the post,
Clarence the Cat took over Neighborhood Watch

What' s really scary is when your cat does this when it's dark out, you're home alone and he's standing
like this on the end of the bed, staring down the hallway, towards the stairs.
I HATE that!

Did you know your house was haunted when you moved in?

Of course, the whippet is no help at all, he just stays under the covers, oblivious to it all.  He didn't get the note about barking to scare off
burglers or whatever.  He figures that it's the cats job so why worry..............he has the old bat as the backup. Wink

That's sort of a Whippet thing. It's in their job description!

This morning, when Peri went outside, I randomly picked up one of Emy's pups and put it in with Esther.  The pup is a female ("Teddy Bear" is what she's known as because of her stuffed animal identifier.) I wanted to see how 4-1/2 week old Esther responded to another puppy since she is rather sedate and well mannered with the adult dogs, even her mom. She knew immediately that Teddy was another PUPPY. Instinctual play is so... instinctual! She pawed, she pounced, she snuck up on her, she chewed on her face, legs, tail. She tried to mount her... pretty funny with Esther small enough to almost stand upright underneath "Teddy." And the older pup? She played nicely. She let Esther lead the way and any time she knocked her over, she stood back and let her regain her feet rather than following through and holding her down the way she does with her brothers and sisters. When she pawed at Esther, it was more like she was just touching her rather than pushing. I was so impressed with both of them! So, from now on, every time I send Peri outside, I'll put another of Em's kids in with their cousin. By the beginning of next week, they should all have met her and I'll put HER in with ALL of them at once and let her stay for an hour or so at a time. Peri is still so protective, I doubt she'll put up with her baby being gone longer than that! Oh, Teddy weighed in at just shy of 6.5 pounds. And Esther? Right on 2.75.

It's the weekend Emy's pups turn 8 weeks and choosing has already begun.
Males are already assigned homes. The lady with 2nd pick of the 6 females is
waiting for this weeks photos to make her decision. So the pups had two new
experiences today... they went outside for the first time AND some of them
wore harnesses (so I could tell one from another in the pictures.)
This pup had something to say about this constant picture taking business...
or maybe she doesn't want to move to North Carolina!

Some new pics of Blaze, taken today.

Blaze usually relaxes on his pillow or blanket.  This shows how hot it is here, he's choosing the cool tile floor.  Grin

I usually take pics with my camera, these were taken with my Blackberry, which really seems to do a number on his eyes.
