Ah! The spaces formed by the fingertips form in effect small, poorly focused lenses, and they project the sun with moon shadow projected onto that light colored object.

We've recently back from 10 days in Scotland, staying mainly in friends' old red sandstone holiday cottage on the Berwickshire coast (20 miles from the English border on the east coast), where we've been going most years for a few days for over 40 years. It's very wild, a mile in from the sea, with wind and solar generated electricity.  Once it warms up it's very cosy, and needed to be as it rained most of the time (very different from 2 years ago).  But had some sun for photos.



That's the sea in the distance.
