This was the entrance to a restaurant!  I love the statue.  I'd love to have that statue in my yard or house.  (Well, it might be a bit big for inside the house.)  LOL

This is just so beautiful!

Was it a Japanese restaurant?

Beautiful pictures of Nam and Australia, y'all!

Still, I have mixed feelings looking at the pictures of Hanoi. I'm glad the country has gotten over the war, but I still think of intelligence school and interrogation techniques. So not terribly pleasant, I'm afrraid.

I can see how your feelings must be very ambivalent, Fritz.   Undecided Undecided

A slightly different view.

Loved all the Hanoi photos. And this is a particularly beautiful one.

thanks sonja and sara.   Smiley

that restaurant was very nice vietnamese food.  a little more upscale than sitting on a plastic chair on the sidewalk eating from the local fry lady (although that food can be quite good too!).   Wink Cheesy

Here are the last of the Hanoi pictures.  There are a lot.  If I post too many, let me know and I won't post so many in the future.

We went to a water puppet show.  There are 3 shows a day 6 days a week.  There are a couple different crews but I still wonder how the people handle standing in water all day long.  Wouldn't that cause skin problems?

These are the people who provide the musical accompaniment.

There is a 4 kilometer wall in Hanoi along the dike that separates the flood area of town from the rest of it.  The wall took 2 years to decorate in these mosaics.  It is really pretty and keeps changing styles and colors, as you'll see.

A billboard along the sidewalk.  I just thought it was funny.  (It could be seen in a much more negative light though.)
