Stop and search also has to be administered fairly. There has been enormous problems in London for years because black young men are stopped and searched in a much higher ratio than white young men.
OK if there are a lot of problems with black gangs, not so OK if you are just a young black student taking some homework round to study with a friend!

Here's the question... what percentage of crime is committed by that young white man and what percentage by that young black man?

 What next?
Probably highways, public schools, and protection from by a military.  Socialism.  Phew.  Makes you want to join the Kochite brothers Taliban.  We need to return to sefdom, as they have proposed.

First socialized medicine and now socilaized electricity? What's next? Free cable?

We finally got off dial-up access when Obama started a program that paid for installation of satellite hookups in approved rural areas -- "approved" meaning areas where there was no reasonable alternative.  We're responsible for the monthly charge but the installation was the start-up we needed.  Cyber-infrastructure is a problem in rural areas; the Green Acres characters don't live here anymore and farmers need access for business as much as anyone.

No free cable though; not that it's available around here.

If any conservative heads explode while reading this, someone please notify me and I'll smile a little.

Well, that's the problem, perfectly innocent black men get stopped and searched, when they have done absolutely nothing, and that makes them distrust the police, which then causes another problem. You can't tar everyone with the same brush, but that's what happens.
On the other hand in areas where there are a lot of black gangs, like South London, where there are an awful lot of knifings, some of them could do with searching, because it could save lives.
I don't know if you get "24 Hours in A&E" from Kings College Hospital, in the USA, but when I watch it here, and see the distraught parents whose teenage sons are lying on stretchers either dead or near death because they have been stabbed, it tears me apart.
I think if I was a black mother in that area I would move heaven and earth to get my children out of there.
Some do, of course, sending their sons and daughters, to the Carribean or Ghana, or other places for a private education.
It is not a nice situation.

-Free Wi-Fi, a government-sponsored wireless network, carrying radio, TV, Internet, etc.

Actually, many cities have already implemented free Wi-Fi. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Municipal_wireless_network).

Some cities and towns have backed out or canceled plans after being browbeaten or sued by the greedy element within the telecom industry.

+If Bill Gates gets his way we'll have free, global Wi-Fi - a.k.a., a "universal service."

I'm not sure what you mean by socialized electricity.  We still have to pay, we just don't have to grovel to get it.

Actually, we've been getting our power via "socialized electricity" -- an electrical co-op -- for 16 years.

We have lower rates than the public utilities and occasionally get rebates.

A look into the concerns of the attendees at the Romney fundraiser  in East Hampton -- timid offenses and the cluelessness of the Little People:

"The line of Range Rovers, BMWs, Porsche roadsters and one gleaming cherry red Ferrari began queuing outside of Revlon Chairman Ronald Perelman's estate off Montauk Highway long before Romney arrived, as campaign aides and staffers in white polo shirts emblazoned with the logo of Perelman's property -- the Creeks -- checked off names under tight security.

"They came with high hopes for the presumed Republican nominee, who is locked in a tight race with President Obama. And some were eager to give the candidate some advice about the next four months. . . .  A money manager in a green Jeep said it was time for Romney to 'up his game and be more reactive.' So far, said the donor (who would not give his name because he said it would hurt his business), Romney has had a 'very timid offense.'

A New York City donor a few cars back, who also would not give her name, said Romney needed to do a better job connecting. 'I don't think the common person is getting it,' she said from the passenger seat of a Range Rover stamped with East Hampton beach permits. 'Nobody understands why Obama is hurting them.

" 'We've got the message,' she added. 'But my college kid, the baby sitters, the nails ladies -- everybody who's got the right to vote -- they don't understand what's going on. I just think if you're lower income -- one, you're not as educated, two, they don't understand how it works, they don't understand how the systems work, they don't understand the impact.' "

Not many nails ladies or babysitters at the Koch soiree, since the admission price was $75,000 a couple.

So why doesn't that same reasoning apply to Pit Bulls? Because if most of a problem comes from one area, THAT is the area where you look first. When my arm itches, I don't scratch my leg.

Yep. By November the election will be bought, if not completely paid for.

And some elected official is already bragging that the elimination of voters from the electoral rolls will guarantee R a win in November.

The election that will cost two billion dollars (!)  Double the cost of the last one.  It's obscene.

They are a banned breed here, so a recent trend has been to breed really fierce, aggressive, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, which used to be lovely dogs. I don't understand this drive to breed more and more aggressive dogs, but there is still a lot of dog fighting that goes on, I believe.
