It's been a gruesome week!  First the Miami Zombie Attack and now, closer to home, the Body Parts Murder.  The whole country is abuzz about this horrific crime which will no doubt be  coming to a CSI episode next year.

Luka Magnotta - Psycho Killer

MONTREAL – Montreal police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for Rocco Luka Magnotta — a man with a disturbing online profile who is now accused of murder after the grisly discovery of a torso, whose severed foot and hand were mailed to the Conservative and Liberal party offices in Ottawa.
Police also confirmed that the suspect at large in the gruesome murder and dismemberment once dated notorious sex killer Karla Homolka, though in 2007, Magnotta denied he dated the notorious sex killer.

GRISLY DISCOVERY

A headless, limbless torso was discovered in a suitcase with a heap of garbage Tuesday at Place Lucy and Decarie Blvd. in Montreal’s Snowden neighbourhood. At about the same time Tuesday, an employee of Conservative Party of Canada headquarters in Ottawa opened a package that contained a severed foot. A second parcel containing a hand was later located at a Canada Post sorting facility in Ottawa.
Wednesday, police linked the severed appendages to the torso and transferred the case to Montreal Police.
Montreal Police focused their attention on a second floor apartment in a building on Decarie near where the torso was found Tuesday in a suitcase on the curb with a pile of garbage.
The tenant of the building is being sought by police, said residents of the building.
The apartment smelled terrible and it appears the homicide was carried out on a bed in the small apartment. A reporter saw a mattress stained with blood Wednesday afternoon.

DISTURBING VIDEOS POSTED ONLINE

A video purporting to show Magnotta stabbing a man repeatedly on a bed has been circulating online and was sent to The Gazette. The Gazette has been unable to confirm that this is the same video that police received. The Gazette has not been able to confirm whether the video was staged.
Police have obtained a disturbing video of the crime and are taking steps to have it removed from a website where it was posted, The Gazette has confirmed.
Investigators are seeking the public’s aid in locating the 29-year-old Magnotta, who may also go by the names Eric Clinton, Kirk Newman or Vladimir Romanov.
“We really need the public’s help on this,” said SPVM spokesman Ian Lafrenière. The assistance of residents in the area where the body was discovered had also helped the investigation advance quickly.
Magnotta is said to be a stripper and a porn star. The suspect was not previously known to police, Lafrenière said.

Authorities are saying that the "miami zombie" man that was shot and killed may have been using "bath salts" which contain similiar chemicals to PCP.

This is beyond terrible.  Beyond it.  

I remember when "Silence of the Lambs" was released.  I didn't want to go 'cos of the Hannibal character (even though I do like Antony Hopkins a lot, I did not like him as that awful murderer).  Anyway, I saw it later on one of the movie stations and couldn't look at the parts with flesh eating; many other parts also.  It really made me sick.

Apparently, there was a note with the severed foot that indicated that there may be four other body parts in the mail.  Police also now confirm that the suspect was romantically linked to school girl killer Karla Homolka.  She's been living in Montreal since her release in 2005 under another name.

WOW!! 1st Circuit Court of Appels just delcared DOMA Unconsitiional. Now if they would go after The Patriot Act. Will not be hold me breath on thart one.

The decision by the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals is encouraging but should hardly be considered a belweather.  The courts decision will be appealed and other, similar cases will be presented before other Federal judges until it goes before the U.S. Supreme Court.  And by that time, the lobbyists, various government agencies, will have been working on the SCOTUS clerks, and justices. Thomas, Roberts, Kennedy and Alito, will be have been wined and dined by the Cardinals of the Church, Pat Robertson will have invited them to dinner  and prayed for their souls, and various $50,000 speaking gigs before ultra-conservative business and political groups will have been given out to assure their loyalty to the original intent of the Constitutional authors wing.  All of which will lead up to a 5-4 decision overturning all of the appellate courts who have ruled against the law.
