U.S. District Judge Katherine Forrest in Manhattan today ruled in favor of a group of writers and activists who sued President Barack Obama, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and the Defense Department, claiming a provision of the act, signed into law Dec. 31, puts them in fear that they could be arrested and held by U.S. armed forces.

Donna Summer dead: Her voice soared through disco and beyond

Donna Summer died Thursday after a battle with cancer. The 63-year-old Summer was known for her soaring voice and sensual purrs that made her a queen of disco when the genre was in its heyday in the 1970s. And it was a title she held well beyond those years.

A statement from her family called Summer "a woman of many gifts, the greatest being her faith."

"While we grieve her passing, we are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy," according to the statement released by Universal Music, her record label. "Words truly can't express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our family at this sensitive time."

Thanks, OG..!

And for the drones who think that the Obama regime doesn't take political prisoners, like whistleblowers, journalists, news reporters, it's time to think again. -They already have.

The Prez is running Yemen now? Honestly, you'd think he'd stick to the US until he gets it straightened out.

I don't care. John's still welcome at my house any time.

I DO wonder, however, if true, were his advances the first and only ones ever received by his accusers....

I know, I wonder that too.   A lot questions really..  I honestly don't believe it, and now every Tom Dick and Harry is going to come out with a story.    I am a huge fan, obviously couldn't care less if he is gay or straight.   Only person who should care there is his wife.

And I don't want to think of him abusing people,  I can't see that, I really can't.

Just went on her site and she had this video he made her for Mother's Day.   He is a man who loves his family and he seems like "a good man" That is why I don't see any abuse happening on his part.

Well, I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't see a sexual invitation as abuse. If he... or anyone... uses physical force or position of power to garner sexual activities from someone, that's abuse. If he... or anyone... whistles or pats a butt or suggests a get together, even more than once, but accepts no as an answer, that's nada, maybe annoying if it is persistent or long term, but not abuse. I doubt John Travolta has any trouble getting his needs met period.

TMZ reports that Allred is now representing John Doe #2, the second of two anonymous masseurs to charge Travolta with sexual battery and assault, but notes "it's unclear exactly what Allred is doing with him."

Yea I am thinking he wouldn't have to look far to have someone have sex with him!  If that was the case...  and he would be "discrete"

Thanks to both oilgun and stan for your posts.  Detenion for no reason and/or no cause is one of the most inhumane things to do to anyone.

I'm not sure that quotes from The National Enquirer have to be taken too seriously, but if the accusations are true, then John Travolta, who I like a lot, is another victim of the sort of internal homophobia that destroys so many lives.
We really should have all got over all this by now.

Are some of you guys seriously blind to even PAST stories about gay celebrities?
Let's use two disparate examples, Rock Hudson and Liberace.

Rock Hudson had many stories like this that came up, but were dealt with.
The one that caused his agent Henry Willson to arrange a marriage for him
was when he had an affair with an Italian guy while he was filming A Farewell
to Arms and the guy was so enamored of Rock that he followed him back to
the U.S. and started all sorts of threats about going to the press and outing
him and such.

And marriage still seems to be a blinding issue to straight people if you read
some of the comments below that Travolta article linked above that tout
"he's a loving family man" so these stories could not possibly be true!  LOL!

Liberace actually won TWO lawsuits for defamation, once in the U.S. and once
in England.  Think of it!  He won two lawsuits for defamation!  Two magazines
wrote about Liberace being gay and HE WON lawsuits claiming they were telling
lies against him!  If Liberace can win lawsuits and claim magazines are wrong that
he is gay, anything is possible.

It's why juries never seem to convict Hollywood celebrities of anything.  If people
can believe a nutcase like Robert Blake and his inane story then it's not hard to
see how people keep ignoring what's right in front of their eyes concerning gay
celebrities.

Over the years there's been lots of stories about celebrities being gay.  Can anyone
name me ONE of the incessant stories about someone that turned out NOT to be true.

I will add to the Travolta stories and you can believe what you like:
My friend Ken has been regaled with stories of Johns activities
with several boyfriends on the set of Urban Cowboy by Debra
Winger herself, who noted that all of those stories in the Enquirer
about him and his adult film star boyfriend (was that in the 80's or
90's?) were absolutely true.

My waiter friend Rich was propositioned by John Travolta at his
place of employment.  My friend declined.

Anybody who DIDN'T know about Liberace... well, there are no words to describe.

And as for Rock Hudson, my dad worked with him ... briefly... as a bodyguard of sorts (he was a police sargeant assigned to him for security) and he told me some stories way back when. I didn't care then and don't care now.

Perhaps the point I was making is unclear. I don't care. John Travolta, in or out of the closet, is okay in my book. And I seriously doubt the men coming forward now are doing anything but trying to make a fast buck. As Janjo said, it is too bad this kind of thing is still an issue, in Hollywood or our local neighborhoods.

The only time someone's sexual preferences matter to me is when I'm in bed with that someone. THEN we can talk about it.
