Threats and fear at work.

The race for the Arkansas' third congressional district took a gruesome turn on Sunday, when the campaign manager for Democratic challenger Ken Aden came home and found his cat slaughtered with the word "liberal" painted on the corpse.

According to a press release sent out by the Aden campaign, "The family pet, an adult, mixed-breed Siamese cat, had one side of its head bashed in to the point the cat's eyeball was barely hanging from its socket. The perpetrators scrawled 'liberal' across the cat's body and left it on the doorstep of [Jacob] Burris' house."

BBT, Has that story been 'vetted'..?

There's a lot of high-grade agit-prop floating around, these days. It's getting harder and harder to tell The Huffington Post from The Onion...

Never underestimate  hostile  appeals to liberal guilt.  And I'm saying that as a lifelong liberal.

With the world having shrunk the way it has, no one should believe for a nanosecond that Mexico or Canada would do any differently if circumstances over the past six or seven decades were different.  It's moral superiority for the Dollar Tree shopper; nothing more, nothing less.

Perhaps, but that doesn't make it any less disgusting.

The status quo in general or did you have something specific in mind?

It was also reported in these news outlets below, among others.  That doesn't mean it can't be a hoax but I doubt it is.  Animals are often innocent bystander victims in hate crimes.

-Thanks, Marcie.

I felt very much pained and diminished after reading about the abuse of the Siamese cat.  When I was a teenager I owned two beautiful, seal-pointed Siamese; they were loving, adorable and fiercely-loyal pets.

2. Yes, it's not surprising that the article BBT mentioned would appear in multiple places -- a lot of newspaper sources in your list  actively subscribe to established news wire services e.g., Reuters, AP, etc... IOW, they likely are "feeding from the same trough."

Ironically, many of these 'legit" wire services had their involvement in domestic agit-prop dragged into the light during the 1975 Congressional Investigation headed by Sen. Frank Church -- the "Select Committee to Study Governmental Operations with Respect to Intelligence Activities" -- which uncovered the CIA's program of press infiltration, "Operation Mockingbird" [see].

Under 'Mockingbird:'
o 'REUTERS' was found to be a shill for 'CIA' -- virtually synonymous with it, with a cadre of CIA agents on staff...

o  During Bush-2,  CEO Rupert Murdoch openly instructed his global network, NEWSCORP, to  cheer-lead Bush's wars in the Middle East...Sorry to say, but not surprising, Rupert Murdoch (-'News of the World,' 'FOX News', etc.) is an avowed Zionist...

o  Columbia U. referred to THE NEW YORK DAILY NEWS , owned by Mortimer Zuckerman as a full-throated, yellow tabloid...

o  The staff of the British tabloid 'THE DAILY MAIL invented criminals like 'Jack The Ripper' et.al. in order to boost newspapers sales...(and that's not all!)

o  During the Islamic Revolution in Iran, on slow days, CBS NEWS reporters, along with those of several other networks were paying Iranian students/dissidents to stand in front of its cameras and scream, "Death to America!," etc. I believe that CBS was caught red-handed at it.

o  In the US, the supermarket tabloid called THE EXAMINER is the 'gold standard' for questionable reporting.

Thank you for sharing, irrelevant as most of it was.

BTW, my name isn't "Marcie."

The Daily Mail is a right wing rag for which I have no time at all, but even so I don't think it can be accused of inventing Jack the Ripper. A journalist very likely invented the name, but the killer and the dead and mutilated women were real enough.
