What my mother always said: "Man will probally destroy the world because of greed, wars and/or carelessness long before the end should occur or before God planned"...

Oscar Wilde thought that, in creating Man, God somewhat overestimated his ability...

This was sent to me in an email yesteday, and I'm not really sure what to make of it.

For one, the animation and digital work is indeed good, but there are some strong political, social, religious overtones here, and I can't seem to figure out exactly what point it is trying to make.

If nothing else, bring it up to full screen, and watch the whole 7 or whatever minutes and see if it makes any sense.   One thing I did pick up on was the symbolism of the 2001 terror attacks, and what appears to be yet another to come?  Undecided

There is a lot of crap going on in that video, and people are latching on to it and coming up with theories.

One of the things that someone noticed is that the timer of the video skips a second.  If you watch the video at about 7:20, it counts down to 7:26 and then skips to 7:28.  The 7:27 does not register.

there are people online saying that indicates a terrorist attack at the London Olypmics, which start on 7/27.

I never noticed that, but will take another look.   I thought the Summer Games in London started sometime in August?   The opening day is July 27th?   I have been hearing news reports of some arrests in London where individuals or vehicles have been stopped that had 'bomb making' potential.   I sure hope the games go without incident, but have to admit I'm apprehensive.  It seems the Olympic games are nearly always targeted by terrorist groups.  With all this bloodshed going on in Syria at the moment....I just don't know what to expect.

There are also some arrests going on in the North of England which was said to be connected with the "assassination of a famous person, but not connected with the Olympics." Investigations are underway.

I think the police have really got their work cut out at the moment.

If an assassination occurs, will anyone claim it's from natural causes?   Evil

Congressman Barney Frank weds in same-sex marriage

July 7, 2012
BOSTON (Reuters) - Democratic Representative Barney Frank wed his longtime partner, James Ready, on Saturday, becoming the first sitting congressman to enter into a same-sex marriage.

Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick officiated the ceremony and added some levity by saying Frank, 72, and Ready, 42, had vowed to love each other through Democratic and Republican administrations alike, and even through appearances on Fox News, according to Al Green, a Democratic congressman from Texas.

"Barney was beaming," said Green, who attended the ceremony. He added that Frank, a champion of gay rights and the sweeping reform of Wall Street, shed a tear during the ceremony.

After exchanging their vows, Frank and Ready embraced each other, Green said. "It was no different than any other wedding I've attended when you have two people who are in love with each other," Green said.

Frank, a Massachusetts Democrat and a former chairman of the powerful House Financial Services Committee, has been an openly gay congressman since the late 1980s.

I had thought that they were waiting till after the election so that they could get married in Maine, where Ready is from. But I guess there was a change in plans.

Saw an ominous story on MSNBC on these new voter ID laws, sponsored by the GOP.  In Pennsylvania alone, they could knock 750,000 out of voting.  So what's the big deal?  Why can't people just comply?
Well, in my own case, I had let my drivers license lapse, briefly, and, in the post 9/11 new regs, the amount of documents I had to produce were insane.  Birth Certificate, SS card, recent bills, lapsed ID's were not enough.  I had to produce difficult-to-obtain documents like.....school records (!!!!!).  It took 3 weeks.
So, to say people are lazy for not having a valid driver's license or State ID is now false.
Oh, yeah:  Student ID's are not accepted. Gun licenses are.  There's your proof this is political.

Some states will allow provisional voting.  Right.  Working people fighting the lines in the weather, are supposed to wait hours after work, to vote provisionally?
This is CRIMINAL !!!!!

As they came right out and said in Pennsylvania, the people stricken from the voter rolls are more likely to be Democratic, thereby giving the Republican candidate the advantage. No doubt the courts will uphold it, since they've become an appendage of the political process rather than an arbiter.

I don't know about the stiking from the voter rolls; maybe that's intertwined.  Mostly, it was new voter ID requirements, preventing someone still on the rolls from voting.

As for the courts, if the Justice department argued that new ID's are very difficult to obtain, the courts could less easily say it's a State matter and then would have to consider fundamental rights.  But you are right, Fritz, the courts are packed with Bush appointees, and the GOP has been stalling on the Obama appointments.  The courts are now political.
Which reminds me.  It's been said this issue was why Holder was bogged down with investigation and, finally, contempt citation : payback for opposing the GOP surge to disenfranchise voters.
This is not just a new low in GOP coordinated assaults.  It's a carefully planned attack on the electoral system.

Hell, Tony, when I moved up here 13 years ago I had to have all those ids, except for school records, PLUS a copy of my lease just to get my electricity turned on.
