Apparently, the 'Bilderbergers' butter Obama's bread, too...

Do you recall, back in 2008, when then-candidate Sen. Barack Obama suddenly disappeared, leaving the press corps stranded aboard his airplane in Washington, thinking he would be joining them on the flight to a campaign rally in Chicago...? -Ha. -He ditched them, leaving them stuck in the plane on the tarmac.  (I know, I didn't want to believe he would do that, either.)

'Here's a hilarious clip of Robert Gibbs, Obama’s then-press secretary, trying to placate a furious press corp, who found themselves tricked aboard a flight to Chicago, while Obama snuck off to a secret meeting with the Bilderberg Group.'[confirmed]

Robert Gibbs Lies to Press to Avoid Disclosing Obama's Whereabouts...

I remember it clearly.  When the Bilderbergers say jump... if you want to keep your illusion of power, you jump.

Apparently the group of elitist swine have chosen Rubio to be Mitt's VP.

 Odds and ends:
IMO, Mayor Bloomberg's banning of super-sized sugar drinks in NYC restaurants is not only not government nannyism, it is example of government courage and wisdom.  Obesity in this country is epidemic and growing worse, even among the very poor.  He's done this before, with indoor smoking in public bldgs., and trans-fat in restaurants.  You can still smoke all you want, and clog your arteries with novel fats all you want, and consume all the sugar you want.  But at some point, in the vast wasteland of no warnings, somebody has got to say no, first.  And he did.

Next up, the ceremony of unveiling Bush's portrait in the White House, today, was so cozy and elitist, it left me feeling queasy.  More and more, Obama looks like Bush III.

Finally, Russia, China, and Iran, are supporting genocide in Syria.  The first two are bad enough.  But Iran seems to be sponsoring death everywhere.  I think we picked the wrong two wars, and did them wrong.  Iran has emerged as a terrorist state, and I have zero sympathy for them if they have to be bombed back into the stone age.  Unfortunately, the timing is awful. I don't claim to know the answer.  But am now certain, Iran seeks to be a Shi'ite world power, and to spread death everywhere in the process.

1.  I'm glad bloomberg said it; obesity is an epidemic all over the U.S.  I read an article recently that Europe is really puzzled by this; most countries over there don't have such a problem.

2.  Unfortunately, I've thought for some time that obama is bush III; after all he has continued everything cheney/bush Evil did illegally and more.
That portrait thing - a portrait of that stupid/warmongering jerk?   My, so so friendly and cozy.  It's sickening.

3.  I think it is terrible that Russia, China & Iran are supporting a true genocide in Syria.  To see those little children and all the innocents suffer...just awful.   They are little ones!

Yes and getting arrested for ordering TWO (or three or however many) of the smaller drinks will work wonders for NYC's coffers.
I don't get it... on one hand everyone is yelling about Big Brother watching them and Big Government sticking its nose into people's private business... like in the bedroom... and on the other it seems to be okay to mandate an 1800 calorie diet and gym membership.

I've heard just the opposite, that obesity is rampant in most places. In fact, some doctor/expert was just on one of those news talk shows last night saying the US may be a little ahead in this area, which is our usual place, but Canada, Europe, the Scandanavian countries are right there with us. The moderator made some joke about Great Britain not being included and was set straight immediately by the expert who added the comment that food quality had greatly improved there.

How about this... food will be regulated and taxed just like booze and tobacco. We can even set up programs where restaurants can get subsidies for NOT offering certain items on their menus.

Isn't it strange that we heard two different things?  Well, I read the article online so it may have been exaggerated a bit, but it did state and it is true that obesity is truly an epidemic now.

When I went shopping yesterday, the majority of people there were so obese I could hardly get through the aisles; and they wouldn't move an inch either!  They  must have been 2/3 of the people there.  Sheesh........ Roll Eyes

Just come and take a look around - wish it were true for Britain.... But it's not the good food (of which there is plenty Cheesy) that's the problem. And you have only to look in some people's supermarket trolleys to see why.

And my daughter in Australia says that the same thing is starting to happen even in their sporty outdoorsy culture.

I think we have access to some very unhealthy and calorie laden food. I was watching a diet programme on TV the other night that estimated the calorific value of a doner kebab at 1700 calories! 1700 calories in one snack meal!
I feel glad it is not something I have ever eaten.

I am trying very hard to lose weight at the moment, and it isn't easy.
Any help from anyone, including some government restrictions, can only be to the good.
It seems that the diet of poor people is much worse than that of the rich, cheap, fatty, and satisfying I suppose.

So are you voting for Romney?  He has at least 3 years of bidness experience, you know.   Evil

JC Penney's Fathers Day ad:

The New Civil Rights Movement blog reports that the couple were "Broadway’s Book Of Mormon star actor Rory O’Malley and his boyfriend, who posed for a GAP ad."  The copy reads: "First Pals: What makes Dad so cool? He's the swim coach, tent maker, best friend, bike fixer and hug giver--all rolled into one. Or two."

I think the first lady cares about the obesity epidemic and she cares about kids and she cares about health.

I say buy her book and start a garden!   Wink

I did a garden last year... one tomato plant. But not this year. I ended up feeding most of the fruit to the deer. I'd rather pay $3.50 a pound and get one or two tomatoes a week at the grocery.

I agree, but will still be voting for Obama. The alternative scares more than another Obama term. Either way with the poor jobs report out today and stock taking a beating, it does look like BushIII will be out in November, unless major things happen soon. If Walker remains Governor of Wisconsin after his recall will tell the story. If he again wins, it just goes to show people are desperate and will do anything for security, even giving up certain rights. This is the game plan for the GOP for years and some people are buying it.  Sad Sad

Michelle Obama has been compared occasionally to Jackie Kennedy, and like the earlier stellar FL, she's focused on things close to (her present) home.

Jackie K did a complete and sorely-needed historic restoration of the White House.  But this was more than a decade before she publicized the concept of historic preservation as Jackie O, and the newshounds made jokes about the little woman redecorating and picking out the wallpaper.   Wink

I had a lot of respect for Jackie Kennedy.  But Michelle is a just a whole different woman.  Of course it is a whole different time!  Smiley
