If you actually want to UNDERSTAND the situation instead of someone who
wrote an article and cherry picked a few facts, read this:

http://maddowblog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/03/21/10793658-the-nature-of-debt-comparisons

Here's the first two paragraphs:
Let me know what you think.

I think that Rachel Maddow is a lot more liberal than Mark Knoller is conservative.  Fact remains the national debt has continued to accelerate at an alarming rate under Obama's watch.

Hey, what about them secret service agents in Cartagena?  I could suppose several might sometimes stray, but over 10?  I suppose Fox news will say this would never have happened if the President was a Mormon.
 Very strange story.

I, of course, sincerely appreciate Michael's detailed post.
I also urge you to read the following to the extent that you can.
I believe it details exactly what happened and adds to the information Michael referenced.
As is usually the case, the situation was much more complicated than simply one victim, one doctor, and the absence of leadership from one man.
You can ignore it, of course, and continue to yell at one another and simply reinforce your own prejudices.

I've been sort of following the SS agent story out of S.A.   Much as their name implies, I doubt we will ever know the truth.   Oh wait, 50 years from now, one of them will write a scandalous tell-all best seller......to be made into TV movie!  Cheesy Grin

The truth is a bunch of guys went to South America and partied. Big deal. If they had been working for Steve Jobs or Billy Graham, it wouldn't even have made the news.

Ah, but this is tax payer dollars designated to protecting the president.   And I seriously doubt SS protection would ever be provided for Steve Jobs, as he is now dead.

And again, so what? Is someone saying they did not do the job they were sent to do? Every report I've seen/heard has said they were not on the President's detail and his safety was uncompromised. Are government employees paid 24 hours a day and therefore, have no time off the job so every second they live they belong to the US tax payer? And even if they put the whores on their expense accounts, is that any different than $1000 bottles of wine at dinner?

I suppose it would depend on how well they used their tongues or kegels!

Here is a better explanation of Obama's jet-setting vacations!

From what I've seen online (of course, online stuff is suspect Cheesy Cheesy it's so hard to find what is "true") I've seen numerous sites discuss that the oil taken by the pipeline will not reduce our dependence on foreign oil or lower gas prices.

•Keystone XL is an export pipeline. According to presentations to investors, Gulf Coast refiners plan to refine the cheap Canadian crude supplied by the pipeline into diesel and other products for export to Europe and Latin America. Proceeds from these exports are earned tax-free. Much of the fuel refined from the pipeline’s heavy crude oil will never reach U.S. drivers’ tanks.

http://www.tarsandsaction.org/spread-the-word/key-facts-keystone-xl/

As for President Obama's vacation on a jet that is putting polution in the enviornment and taking more fuel, I'm far to be casting stones for that, given the amount of jets I've been on to get to Brokie gatherings, and that would also include the ones I drove to in my SUV.  Just what would the enviornmental impact be to create this pipeline, and what happens if the pipe were to break?  Given the environmental disaster we had with the underwater pipe recently, do we need one on land?

Perhaps my previous response to this regarding tongues and kegels was a bit to sexual in nature.  Grin Grin

"What's the difference between a whore and a $1000 bottle of wine??

the bottle of wine can't pump you for classified information about the security of the President, nor can it blackmail you....but if she (or he) has so little interest in the protection of the POTUS and national security, then I suppose it's not all that big a deal.

I personally, although I loathe the One, would prefer that he be surrounded by a security detail that is above reproach.

I think that Rachel Maddow is a lot more liberal than Mark Knoller is conservative.

First, what does that have to do with the issue you raised?

Fact remains the national debt has continued to accelerate at an alarming rate under Obama's watch.

Second, I don't recall you posting anything about deficits when V.P. Cheney said they don't matter
back in 2007-8.

And, well, I did say "that if you wanted to understand you should read it," but apparently you did not
because Rachel Maddow didn't write the article I linked to, it was only posted on her blog site.
Which is what I expected all along, you are only looking for ammo against "the one" you loathe.

I personally, although I loathe the One, would prefer that he be surrounded by a security detail that
is above reproach.

What does it mean to call the President "the one?"

Let me know what you think if you do read the article.

I certainly DID read the article, and there was NOTHING of substance there, so I didn't comment about it.

.....and also, what does 2007/08 have to do with current events?   I get slapped here everytime I try to bring up something from the past!
