Cyndi Lauper's organization -  True Colors

True Colors is a non-profit organization that works with other social service agencies, schools, organizations, and within communities to ensure that the needs of sexual and gender minority youth are both recognized and competently met. The organization trains more than 2400 people annually, organizes the largest LGBT youth conference in the country with more than 2000 attendees and manages the state’s only LGBT mentoring program.

Chris Salgardo is President of Kiehl’s USA .  To the LGBT consumer, Kiehl’s is surely one of the best recognized and most cherished names in skin, hair, and body care products.  Kiehl’s has certainly shown its love and loyalty back, sponsoring dozens of LGBT-related organizations and events including New York City’s Gay Pride (their 2010 float was a much ballyhooed highlight), Palm Desert AIDS Project, Project Angel Food, The Trevor Project, and amFAR. This past August, the openly-gay president of Kiehl’s USA, Chris Salgardo, led a pack of motorcyclists and celebrity riders from Beverly Hills to San Francisco in a five-day awareness and fund-raising Life Ride, presenting amFAR CEO Kevin Frost with a check for $85,000 upon its conclusion.

Chelsea residents Phyllis Siegel, 77, and Connie Kopelov, 85, got hitched at the marriage bureau on Worth Street in Lower Manhattan at 9:02 a.m., setting off wedding bells across Gotham.   They were the first same-sex couple to get married in NYC.
