Oh, yeah, Stan......that stuff is out there.  It is often discredited by quack sites, which have information, but report it with a wildness that turns people off.  Plus, we all want to look away from things like the prison camps for Japanese-Americans, the experiments on black prisoners down south, decades ago, and the Boston Globe expose of the FBI willing to let an innocent man be executed, to protect the real murderer, who was a valuable source.  We read these things, they are admitted, and we turn the page and move on.
And now we have GPS tracking of every cell phone, super-computers that monitor ALL communications (the Washington Post "Top Secret America" series), and we just assume, all the players are morally healthy and we aren't headed into an Orwellian world so fast it is irreversible.

Google "Gay Bomb", to see what strangeness the military can get into.  And then, after things like that, gee, what's developing a few little cancer-inducing techniques ? It's all for our own good, right?  Poor Hugo Chavez.  He IS a whack-nut.  But what he wondered about deserves some wondering.

It's been said that the Roman Empire conquered the known world, in self-defense.  And then went batty and bankrupt.  Maybe less lawyers in Congress, and more history students, might make a dent.  But I doubt it.  I really am amazed also, at the advanced techniques that have been developed for discrediting those that sound alarms, that something is wrong.

-I too am amazed at the lengths the USG and its USraeli handlers will go in order to discredit those who dare to question their "truth." Even the most cursory of surveys of how the United States has handled federal whistle-blowers is enough to give one pause. Anwar al-Alawki is a prime example of an American who was exiled and then terminated with extreme prejudice, for blowing the whistle on the Pentagon's warmongering picnic in the Middle East.

The late Dr. Steve Kangas , a liberal activist physician, compiled a vast dossier regarding medical experimentation that the USG has performed on its unwitting citizens, beginning in 1931 with the radiation exposure experiments on US Army soldiers, and ending in 1999 with the "Persian Gulf Syndrome," after which he was mysteriously terminated.  Dr. Kangas' dossier was subsequently read into the Congressional Record. Kangas was but one of many who met their ends trying to bring the truth about government corruption to light.

I'm not so sure anymore when I hear that some world leader is 'insane,' especially if he is the head of an oil-rich nation that is threatening to cut off our supply. -- It seems that EVERY foreign leader who resists the 'Great Satan' or refuses to bow down before Ba'al is automatically labeled a "madman." Hugo Chavez is no exception.

Anyway, Tony, you are a very astute individual, IMO, and it's always a pleasure to hear from you on this forum.
Have a Happy New Year!

-Stan

Thanks, Stan, and Happy New Year to you, too !

This thread has had a good run, this last year, and, yes the topics have been HOT, at times, and some of us may have gnawed at each other.  But I have loved the intensity of everyone's beliefs, and so wish all of you the very best New Year possible.
And, oh, yeah, there are going to be criminal prosecutions for several in the BP oil spill, and loss of life.  On that one, perhaps we can all agree, something, no matter how limited, got done.

R.I.P. Bill of Rights 1789 - 2011
One of the most extraordinary documents in human history -- the Bill of Rights -- has come to an end under President Barack Obama. Derived from sacred principles of natural law, the Bill of Rights has come to a sudden and catastrophic end with the President's signing of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), a law that grants the U.S. military the "legal" right to conduct secret kidnappings of U.S. citizens, followed by indefinite detention, interrogation, torture and even murder. This is all conducted completely outside the protection of law, with no jury, no trial, no legal representation and not even any requirement that the government produce evidence against the accused. It is a system of outright government tyranny against the American people, and it effectively nullifies the Bill of Rights.

Yesterday was a sad day indeed. (It's beginning to smell a lot like Germany in the thirties)
I wonder if Obama had a good night's sleep after signing that horrific document.

I've enjoyed following this thread, though I haven't participated here for lack of time (have to narrow my focus). Just think, this time next year we'll have been through the election. (Wow, it's been four years already. Wonder if Appleone will be back for that...)

Well understood !  I have to do the same, or else I'd be stuck in some of the other threads (Life through the Lens, Pets, The Diner, and LeBar, etc.) and forget my usual haunts  Cheesy......

I remember Appleone.  She was neat.

Thanks, Kathy.

It's unbelievable that the U.S. is now under Martial Law and most people are concerned about the Kardashians.
Happy 1984 2012.

**You're most welcome.  I loved your post.

You know, I didn't think the U.S. Constitution and/or Bill of Rights could be dismembered any more beyond what cheney/bush and their rotten crowd did.  I was wrong (no surprise) - this one and his rotten crowd are continuing everything and more.  What an awful state of affairs.**

I'm going to start out 2012 asking a question that's been nagging at me forever. I don't know where I should ask it but since Kathy's online and she's got a post right above me, I'll do it here:

**Kathy, why do you begin and end your posts with two asterisks??**

Well, to be truthful, I don't know!  I think I started doing it so that a post would "stand out" or something.  Then I thought I'd bold the posts but decided that wouldn't be such a good idea; so I went back to the asterisks and it just went on and on.

Tell you what - this is 2012 and a new year, and in honor of BBM and our boys whom I love - I will sincerely try not to use them.  (I've been thinking of it for some time anyway and the new year is a fine place to begin).
