Oh boy!  Today's the day!!!!






Madonna's "MDNA" cd drops in stores today, and I'll be going out to buy my copy!!!  Grin

The CDs first single was "Give Me All Your Luvin'", which she performed at the Superbowl.  It ended up being her 38th Top 10 hit, and her 41st #1 dance single.

One of my friends just got his I-Tunes copy of "MDNA" and posted his own review on Facebook.  He's been BLASTING Madonna since her superbowl performance, talking about how much the CD is gonna suck, because he absoluted HATED the first two singles.


"I guess itunes released MADONNA'S new album a day early cos i just bought it. All I can say is, WOW!!!! Totally not what I expected. This woman is brilliant. Whoever told her it was ok to release "Girl Gone Wild" and the Superbowl song as the first singles, should be fired. The rest of this album is SIIIIICK!!! Hot freakin songs. If your one of those people that says they "hate Madonna", but like modern dance music, get this album. Or at least download GANG BANG, LOVE SPENT, SOME GIRLS, BEAUTIFUL KILLER and I DONT GIVE A... Absolutely insane, I love Madonna but I never thought she would put out a cd like this."

I snuck away from the office for a little bit, and got my copy of the Deluxe version (2 CDs), and I've already heard the first 4 songs:  "Girl Gone Wild", "Gang Bang", "I'm Addicted", and "Turn Up The Radio".  I'm likin' this CD!

I stumbled upon a record by this duo at HMV when I visited London a short while ago (I actually should send a thank you letter to HMV for playing some of their songs while I was visiting... Cheesy) and am totally in love with their songs... Some of them are so beautiful I could cry...  Undecided Cheesy Embarrassed
Reminded me again how beautiful duets can be, too...

The Civil Wars to date have had CD success, their debut CD went Top 10 and yes, they won Grammys.  However, radio/single success has eluded them.

Billboard magazine confirms that on tomorrow's Top 200 chart, Madonna will get her 8th #1 album with "MDNA".  The CD opened with first week sales of 359,000 copies.

The only other female artist to have more than her is Barbara Steisand, with 9 #1 albums. 

In the UK,the CD became Madonna's 12th #1 album, breaking a record set by Elvis Presley.

Speaking of covers, I heard Jeff Buckley's version of "Hallelujah" again the other day, and remembered why - even though it's fallen out of fashion - it's still at the top.  Sometimes, I know, when too many people like a song or whatever, especially if they say sappy things about it, the song becomes cheapened and then it's fair game for people who feel powerful when they badmouth.  They aren't always wrong - but they very often are.
