I would so love to know the dynamics behind that performance. It looked as though she was having feedback probs maybe, and the band she kept looking back to, the drummer in particular. And the background chat from the audience for the first minute or so must have been annoying - but then again, it was a club. Amazing!

I thought so too.

And, yes!  Anything with Ella is worth stopping by for.  I had the privilege of seeing her live in her later years when she was still performing.  No big band, but an small trio backing her - piano, bass, and drums.  incredible!

YES! A real lady!

This was my first moment with Ella, in the kitchen before school, I was twelve years old, and her voice, this song filled my head all the way to school and a long time during the day. Louis Armstrong I had then loved since I was five...

Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong- Can anyone explain

More nostalgia.

On the flip-side of the record - when I finally found it - was this.

I still love it.

Will think of something to post for this, something about time, how time heals and about butterfly sisterhood, kindred spirits and being there. I will find sometime.

But for now  Kiss
