That sounds like the coolest job ever...on another forum we talk about whether we would choose music or books. I ALWAYS choose music...because of audio books, of course!

^^^  I had wondered about Pandora!  I just heard it mentioned on a Sprint commercial and looked it up.  Wondered if anyone used it here.

I'm the collection development person for CDs at my library, Attiescout - I worked for about 8 years in record stores in the late 70s/early 80s and use allmusic.com for a lot of research on how to build my collection.  Plus I have favorites that I've listened to for years (my taste runs a bit out of the mainstream, though, as people here could well tell you).

You can't get Pandora in the UK - licensing issues. But I am growing to like Spotify.

My latest passion (aside from Little Boots, La Roux and VV Brown) is Paloma Faith... Saw her about 10 months ago at the Boogaloo Club and have loved her since... Saw a show recently at Hoxton Bar and Kitchen and will see her again in a couple of weeks at ICA.

Here is her My Space page (my fave song is Broken Doll, but also really like the single 'Stone Cold Sober'

I am officially getting fed up with Amy Winehouse.

I had tickets for the Island 50 gig at Sheperds Bush, which she cancelled. What a surprise. I wrote to Island about the booking fees etc which I can not get back, but they have not even bothered to reply.

Oh, Al Jarreau. I took my mom to see him in Denver, man, a LONG time ago. He was devine, smooth, and oh so wonderful. Thanks for the memories!  Smiley

That is sad.  I hate it when you can't get back booking fees.

I like Amy's records but I'm not sure I would trust her to put on a good show even if she didn't cancel.  Roll Eyes
