The first sign of life in four years...

Jess,

Glad you are on the mend.  They say the knee replacement process is so much better (faster, easier) than it was even ten years ago.  Take care.  We're all pulling for you.

Welcome home, Jess!

Glad it all went so well. From now on it will only get better and better, although hard work for you.

Good luck with rehab!  Kiss

Fantastic to hear, Jess. I know how hard a worker you are, and so glad to hear you are able to get around the house a bit. Good luck on the next phase of physio. Keep up the good work. I know it will be tough. Thinking of you! Kiss

Spoke to Jess's husband this morning, and I'll ring her on her mobile later today. The operation seems to have gone well.  It's painful but she is hobbling around.  They'll keep her in hospital until she can use stairs.

Jess, hope you are feeling well by now!  I was away when the operation actually took place.

That's a courageous thing to do, getting it taken care of now so you will be so much more mobile in later years.

Glad you are home now and getting around so well.  Good luck with rehab!

a bit of an update from my little corner.  everything in my apartment is topsy turvy, packing some stuff, mailing some other stuff, tossing some, donating some, and generally acting crazy.  once again thanks go to my one friend who is better than dozens of other friends, if i had any.  he continues to find ways to help, including getting up at OH dark thirty to drive me to the airport.  i'll be met on the other end in SF by another good friend, baycity john, who is putting me up for a few days so i don't have to make one very long trip.

still don't have an official place to stay, but i have a no cash reservation at the waikiki ymca, which, though someone above my monthly budget, is still a good deal.  i think an extra $250 for the month is worth it for a clean centrally located room i can lock up that comes with fitness center privileges.  i'd  RATHER be paying $600 or less, but i will have a month on the ground to look for that deal, while at the same time accessing the social services safety net in as many ways as possible.  i do so LOVE paper pushing...

one thing even those that don't like me admit, i have got SOME chutzpah!
