No, but they said that I would soon. I have to go to a knee class with the physiotherapists beforehand too, who will give me lots more information.

Good news, Jess!

Now it's "only" a knee op!

It really is Jack.

My dentist is sending me for a panoramic Xray at the hospital to see if they can deduce what is going on. I am starting to wonder, as is my dentist, if perhaps I am grinding my teeth at night, because I am stressed about my knee operation. If so, they will make me a mouth guard.
He says that there was definitely inflammation around the impacted wisdom tooth, and my teeth were definitely being moved around, because I couldn't get my front teeth together.
It is all very trying.

Whatever, it does seem to be settling down, and is less painful.

Vicissitudes...............huh! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

for a second there i read "paranormal"x-ray  Whut? Cheesy

okay, here's my double edges sword for the moment...

i just bought my tickets for my move to hawaii.  i say ticketS because i am making the journey in two legs.  except for paying baggage charges 2 times, it is actually much cheaper, and at my age i don't need to be running through airports dragging luggage.  also, i have to deal with recurring bouts of edema that can be easily triggered by sitting for any length of time.  while i can't avoid the length of the trip from the mainland to hawaii, i can at least separate it from the cross country flight to san francisco.  SO, i will make it into a visit with john up in santa rosa.  it is the bane of people who live in popular places to have visitors popping in and out, and the airport ferrying that comes with that.  having lived in miami beach a number of years i can attest to that.  it will be nice to have a visit without a mob of people swirling about.  of course we could find out we really don't like each other after all...

of course, the flip side is that i have to begin clearing everything out of my apartment and out of my life.  a daunting prospect for sure.

I like the idea of a "paranormal X ray!"  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Good luck with the move Jack. I think you are quite brave, but I am full of admiration.
Splitting the journey like that should make it more enjoyable and less of a chore.
Don't envy you the packing though........................

there is barely any packing, the issue is what to pack... and what to leave behind, forever.

but yes, i am brave, in a wacky kind of way.

back into the vicissitudes of life.  finally, a good month later than necessary, i have begun to sale my boots on ebay, my collections of boots i should say.  i have put only two pairs up so far and both have sold well.  i have hundreds more to go, and other household goods are going up on craigslist.  its a bloody shame the place i live in won't let us have a yard sale, i could do quite well.

i keep repeating my mantra, it doesn't matter how well you do the job, or how much of the job you get done, as long as you are ready to take that plane when the day comes.  that day will be august 28th, a bit less than two months.  i will stop over in san francisco and visit with john (baycityjohn) for a few days before heading out again for hawaii.  the layover is important for the sake of my legs, as i can have a problem with the edema that is a fact of life from sitting in that position too long..

i still have no idea where i will stay, so i guess i am doing my homework and trusting a higher power will provide, unless it wants to teach me about homelessness...

The date of my knee operation is now 30th July. It's moved about a bit, but as the surgeon has planned an extra operating list, I think that is more or less definite.
