Zachary Quinto Deeply Moved by Outpouring Support From Fans

Zachary Quinto is thankful for the support he received from fans after he publicly discussed his sexual orientation. The actor, who is famous for his portrayal of Sylar on "Heroes", came out as a gay man in a recent interview with New York magazine. After earning praises from fans for his decision, he took to Twitter to express his gratitude.

On Sunday, October 16, the 34-year-old wrote on his account that he was overwhelmed by the support. "i have spent the day in awe of this outpouring of support and resonance," so he tweeted. In the same posting, he added, "we. are. in. this. together. NEVER FORGET! i am deeply moved."

LMAO chuck, you are so bad.  Evil

i tend to see zach with a dark haired guy when i spot him around town. i don't know if they are an item, though. Cheesy

i hope you cross post this to "coming out, how and why."

it seems almost more relevant there, given that he came out!

at any rate, can you imagine how it must feel to finally spill the beans?

and be able to say, on twitter, or in an interview, or ON THE RED CARPET...

"this is my boyfriend, i love him very much."

or just utter something funny about how hot brad pitt looks in snakeskin boots!

brings tears of happiness to my eyes...  Cry Smiley Cry Smiley

Done!  Grin

I think it would be cool too, to see him with a boyfriend on the red carpet, but I wonder how the networks would handle that?

Wasn't there an issue with the Olympic coverage a while back?  If I'm remembering correctly, one of the competitors was gay, and when they focused on him, they glossed over his partner.

yes, i recall that, somehow, and i don't even watch TV. Cheesy but i am not surprised, look how they handle gay parades in most cities: the dwell on the the leather and drag queens. they just show what they want us to see. blah.

here's an example of how people feel about people like zachary... how people feel about people like you and me...

from the comments on an article about quinto's coming out on the access hollywood site:

Ed, you obviously care more than you let on. And you obviously missed the part about the 14-year-old committing suicide.

Ed Pipki Wrote at October 16th 2011 9:49pm
OK Nolan Belk, what you do not seem to understand is that I and most people do not give a siht what you do with your willie.... Do you not understand, we do not care anymore.... We are tired of hearing about it.... cum out, cum out.... I accept that you are good and capable people, sometimes exemplary people... We are just tired of listening to your endless whining..... Just like the blacks and hispanics..... "Very few have the hatred you want to claim...We accept you for what you are.... now shut up, or I will start a white hope site....quit whining....got it?

I find it sad that anyone is still stupid and ignorant enough to lack an understanding of homosexuality (see Ed Pipki below for an example), but of course this is why Quinto is brave to come out. I thank the powers-that-be for men (and women) brave enough to make this necessary stand. Quinto is among those keeping Dr. King's dream alive.

In the photo he looks like he has a corncob up there right now.

Why do these faggots think anyone cares anymore?Whut? Isn't there more interesting things to report and/or comment. I am a male who like pu$$y, no one cares about that. do they? If these gays want whatever they do, who cares?

yea, it's just ONE guy acting like that, but guess what.. there are millions of him in the same mindset. i don't know if they're brainwashed by fox news or what, but seriously?

I sincerely hope that Zach's coming out is but the advance party of many like him in Hollywood. But ever the pessimist, I doubt it. How many of them will have the balls, hanging on desperately as they do to their career?

This is one name I'll have to google, Jimmy.  II cool j means absolutely nothing to me. And... huge in what way, you old rascal, you? Wink

i totally agree with what you say, andy. so many self serving people litter hollywood. Tongue

cool J  is a rapper turned actor that has a tv show called NCIS los angeles, with chris odonnell. i honestly wish it was chris that came in instead!

and i mean huge in every sense of the word, andy.  Evil  Wink

Andy, Jimmy put a typo in the name.  It's not II Cool J.  It should be L.L. Cool J.

LL (ladies love) Cool J started his career as a rapper here in the US.  His debut CD was released in 1985 and he released his 13th CD in 2008.  Out of those 13 CDs, 11 have hit the Top 10 of the US Top 200 album chart, and he's had 14 Top 40 hit singles here as well.

He's also appeared in a number of TV shows (NCIS, 30 Rock) and movies (Deep Blue Sea, Halloween H20, Charlie's Angels, S.W.A.T)

what i don't get though, how many celebrities have really lost their careers over coming out? (well, maybe that's why we don't remember them....)

but i'd think normally, coming out or being out is received rather well in the acting/film business. and there are lots of great role models who show how you can be out AND have a great career. just thinking about john barrowman - you can be gay AND a superhero. quite groundbreaking, but apparently, it was no issue at all for the audience (apart from the recent sex scenes in the new torchwood season, and i was pretty shocked that the adverse reactions came from UK audiences and NOT US audiences..)...
