Hiya Fan Fair attendees!

It was time to move the old thread, and in turn, move us all to a new Fan Fair!

Just a reminder, "Fan Fair" is a "chat" thread, so there is no specific topic, but posters must follow the general rules of the forum.

Respect your fellow posters, images and gifs are allowed, as long as they are not over 200KBs.  No images with nudity can be posted.  If you want to link to a nude image, that's fine, as long as the link is labed as NSFW (Not Safe For Work).  If you are posting an article, please only post a few sentances, and link to the rest of the article.

Any questions, send a PM to me!

Have fun, and get to posting!

Morning Andy!

Yes, that's been posted/discussed by people in The Diner and Le Bar Slash, but it's certainly welcome here too!

Susan Boyle blew me away when I saw that clip.  I truly hope she wins!  What a wonderful talent, and such a down to earth and unassuming woman.

Wasn't it wonderful, Chuck? I'm not familiar with the song but as soon as she started I knew there was a voice there and at the point where she steps up a note at a time I thought she'd run out of steam but like Joan Sutherland, she had voice to spare. I'm completely bowled over! Grin Grin

Andy, fantastic lady - I'd read about her but hadn't heard it till now.  What a lovely personality and a great singer (but a little too much vibrato for me Smiley).

Good to hear, sweetie.

I'm a little pissed off today.

There were two women who worked in the Human Resources dept. in my prior location.  We were pretty close, had a lot of laughs together.

I found out this morning that there was a huge conference call at my company for the human resources dept., that bascially went like this:

"Good morning HR Dept.  As you know, the HR Dept is currently spread out in different locations, in NYC, NJ, Boston, and other locations.  In a cost saving effort, it's be decided that the Boston HR Dept. will handle all our work.  If you are in another location, your services are no longer needed.  Please change your voicemails and "out of office" assistants on email to have all inquiries to go to Miss X.  at 123-456-7890.   Thank you for your time with us."

  Shocked

I sent my two friends an email, and got the "out of office" assistant.  With all their time with the company (they were here before I got here, and in August, I'll have been here for 12 years.

They deserved better than to be laid off by a conference call.

Yes this is a callous way to do such a thing, if it must be done at all. I would be pissed off too. I can understand the stress you must be feeling.

Yeah, I'm angry about it.

the least they could've done was sent a rep to each office and tell them face to face.

Many of our favorite celebs traded the heat of LA for the action at the Coachella music festival in nearby Indio. Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal made appearances when she wasn't relaxing in her bikini, as did Kirsten Dunst, Anne Hathaway, Paris Hilton and many more. Click through our slideshow to see who came out for a few days of sun, fun, and music.
