my mother was

i had
a dream
last night

my mom was
a snow monkey
in a natural spring
with mist all around
smiling and happy with
snow on top. her nostrils
open breathing not through
her mouth
eyes shut
quiet

my mom was
a snow monkey
and her shoulders
stuck out of the hot
water while snowflakes
swirled around us all wild

Hiya Jimmy.

Gotta say, it was odd to see a pic of a snow monkey, and the title "My Mother Was", but I really liked the poem.  Well done!

Hello --

**I'm feeling sad and sentimental today.  I read the beautiful poem The Last Rose of Summer, and felt I wanted some words for Heath.  They also fit Ennis after Jack is gone:

                       So soon may I follow
                       When friendships decay.
                       From Love's shining circle
                       The gems drop away.

The gems drop away...

**The last verse is beautiful for Heath too; it also fits Ennis after Jack is gone:

                       When true hearts are withered
                       And loved ones are flown,
                       Oh! who wouldst inhabit
                       This bleak world alone?

**Oh, you're very welcome.  It is such a lovely poem.  It was written by Ireland's "national poet" Thomas Moore.  He was dogged by tragedy in his personal life; all five of his children died.  So very sad.  He also wrote "Believe me, if all Those Enduring Young Charms" and many other Irish melodies that are so well known.**

(I think I'm so drawn to it by the element of tragedy in E & J's lives).

I first met him here
on this internet site
his words were unsure
and they spoke of his fright

he had growing to do
but then, don't we all
he wanted to move forward
and did not want to stall

so he took a big leap
and we met face to face
he set off on his path
and used a quick pace

He kept some innocence
and yet I watched him mature
he had a direction
and his steps were more sure

He was my big brother
a true country mouse
I watched him find love
and set up a house

we encouraged each other
and pushed ourselves to try
I never imagined
that so soon I would cry

Our time together was so short
and has come to an end
and I find myself mourning
another Brokie friend

Always remember dear brother
that I loved you so
and please send some blessings
to me down here below
