I don't see her as a retarded person! Think of how many women even in the 60's would have put up with Ennis. Even if there were no fishing trips! Actrually she was uninformed and vulnerable and unable to cope with the situation as Ennis was with his feelings. But that is another story .... and another thread!

Yes OnesEnough, and others, another thread.  Apologies all around.   I have worked in rural communities and seen women so cowed by church and culture
that I have a low startle point when it comes to jokes about Alma, I guess.   YES back to the funnies.

Alijoon.....a Mom question.....does having the hat on front or back have a meaning to young guys?  Mom of 16 yo who wears his cap both ways wants to know.....
.....thanks
I don't have an answer, but it's been 20 years (Egad!) since I first saw Axel Rose of Guns 'n' Roses wear a backward cap. He was thought of by some as homophobic, I was never really sure.
Anyhow, if it has a meaning, I'd like to know. Maybe the meaning is really function, if you know what I mean.
This is one reason for wearing a cap backwards:  Welders always wear theirs backwards because they have this big metal protective helmet with a slide down glass front...the bill of the cap gets in the way of sliding the protective face part of the helmet up and down...also since the protective helmet (don't know what they really call it)  is metal, I would imagine the bill of the cap would keep the back of their necks cooler when having that hot metal hat on, especially if they are welding outdoors.

I could do a caption for this. I could make it the most gut-wrenching one yet. But just because I could, doesn't mean I should. I might try sending it to Alijoon by pm, cause it really might be too much. I don't wanna kill anybody. Or get too far from "the funny", which would be way too easy right now. This will take a few days.

RickB, I'd love for you to do this one, and I would love it that it would be gut wrenching. Please do.

Suddenly, at the bar, after six beers, Ennis's gaydar goes off.

"You all right over there, friend?"
