This is Killer, I'm his mom. I miss you.

I think some of the cliffhangers may already be in place.
With all the characters, there may be several.

I am just wondering if Rene (Drew Marshall) really is the mass murderer.
Of course he did tell Jason that "Things have a way of working themselves out."

Here be spoilies.  Proceed at your own risk!

Some finale!  At least we won't have to wait an entire year for our next infusion of Blood.  Loves me some Bill.  Especially liked seeing the sun's blistering effects from his vamp perspective.  If that isn't true love then I don't know what is. It'll be interesting to see Jessica wreaking havoc on poor, orderly Bill's life next season.  lol  One thing's for sure, Jessica had better watch her shit around Sookie.  Sister wields a mean shovel!

Funnily enough, I can't remember if Lafayette died in the books. He's not as major a character in CH's version.  Neither is Tara for that matter. I hope to hell Alan Ball hasn't offed him.  He was a fave. And no way did Bill kill him, although it's possible Bill did feed--consensually--before Lafayette disappeared.

Thoughts, anyone?

Spoilers - for the books anyway.  Grin

CH did kill Lafayette of in the books.  I'm on book six now, and he has been gone for at least a couple.  CH has a series of new cooks in Merlottes.
And Tara was a smaller role in the books.  And Jason's story arc is quite different.

But they are both good, the show maintains the basic characters and some plots of the books, but deals with them in their own way.

No wonder Book!Lafayette didn't make much of an impression on me.  Thanks for the reminder.  The Dead books have always been very light reading for me and I never re-read them so I tend to forget the smaller details. I wouldn't put it past Alan Ball to deviate further from Harris.

That picture at the police station sure did look like Rene from the previews for last nights episode (which I have not watched yet!)!  I like him.  His accent is hilarious.  I can barely understand him half the time!  I don't really want him to be the killer!

What I want to know is if the accent from the actor is authentic (really his) or did he have to learn it? Also, why is he the only one with such a strong accent on the show?

Spoilers
Well, I just watched the finale finally! I guess that answers my questions!  Ha!  I kind of liked him (Rene) but oh well!  He had issues!  And Sookie with a shovel is a scary thing!

I think they set us up for Jessica and (can't remember his name)....the guy in the diner that made a comment about Bill being so happy to have Sookie on his arm and then said ask Bill if he knows any single women vamps!  Poor him if he ends up with Jessica....his innocent butt will be in trouble!  When Eric and Pam dropped her off at Bill's I just had to laugh at Pam.  Her comment that Jessica is annoying was too funny!  I like her!

I don't think Bill killed Lafayette..I think he just fed on him.  I have no clue what killed him unless that woman with Tara did.  Weird that Sam knows her and doesn't like her.  I know JoeAnn posted something about her so I will have to go back and read what you said.  I am wondering if it is the politician??

Lots of questions and I can't believe we have to wait until Summer 09!  When shows wait that long for the next season I tend to forget about them.  Like Big Love, The L Word, The Tudors.  Sometimes I forget to put them on my "favorites" list because too much time has passed since I last watched them.  Maybe waiting until the series is over is a better deal because then you can rent all the seasons and have a one weekend love fest with your favorite shows!

it is less of an accent, and more of a dialect, and the phrasing is there, but it seems less than natural for the actor. i will be surprised if he brought any familiarity of it with him.  he is, because cajun isn't so much regional as it is cultural and familial.  non cajun neighbors would understand him, but not mimic his phrasing.

Well, the last episode CLEARLY answers my questions about him and the actor!  Ha!  I know what you mean about the phrasing though.....my friend from New Orleans has an accent but not the Cajun dialect for sure!  It is very interesting.

Well , the FIRST Season of Trueblood has come and gone and I'm counting the days until we get Season 2. HBO is playing a Trueblood marathon on New Years Eve so we can all get our Bon Temps Sookie Bill Fangbanger fix for one more time . Link to schedule below :

Also, the talented Brian and Andy of Bloodwork Vlog over at Afterelton.com have been doing a weekly recap of the episodes . It's wonderfully entertaining and a great way to extend your enjoyment of all things Trueblood. take care all until next season:

With The Riches canceled, Boston Legal wrapped, and True Blood, Doctor Who and Torchwood on hiatus I have nothing to watch until baseball season.  Thank God we won't have to wait an entire year for more True Blood!  Let's face it, with TB's borderline cheesy premise, this show have easy missed.  I'm very, very happy it found an appreciative audience early and I can count on it returning.

In the meantime I will amuse myself by searching for Stephen Moyer clips on You Tube.  Much, much goodness there, folks.

i wish i could have kept up with the thread better.

i loved this show start to finish season one.

rene as killer bummed me a little, cause i liked him a lot. but no biggie.

i'm relieved that they tied most of the threads together, while leaving some of the bigger interactions under development. i can't wait for season 2, but i hate shows that make us wait endlessly and rarely deliver on anything.

i also loved that sookie's boss turned out to be the doggie. big chuckles. and i'm looking forward to more shape-shifting stuff, including tara's new "friend."

great stuff. wonderful show.

it's neck and neck with The Mentalist as my new fave, with TB probably winning.
