Spoilers ahoy!:

re: Episodes 206-207

I love Alan Ball!  Who else would have the nerve (and the influence to be able) to show a couple of 'christians' having adulterous sex in a sun-drenched church?  I know he didn't write this particular episode but it's still his show & I bow to him.   Grin

I loved Bill in those flashbacks!  He was shockingly evil!  That scene with him and Lorena and the unlucky 'twenties' couple in the blood-soaked bed was pretty disturbing.

Here's a good episode recap of 207-Release Me:

http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2009/08/03/true-blood-episode-7-tv-recap/
Excerpt: Ah, the sweet, satisfying feeling of getting a good payoff. Though the plot didn’t progress much during last night’s episode of “True Blood” (last week, Sookie was in danger, locked away in the basement of the Fellowship of the Sun’s basement, while this week… Sookie was in danger, locked away in the basement of the Fellowship of the Sun’s basement), we finally got some explanations as to what’s up with Maryann, caught a glimpse of the fabled Godric and are prepped for a holy war.  Entitled “Release Me,” the episode found each of the main characters looking for some sort of escape.[...]

The mysterious Godric, who doesn't look like much of a prisoner to me.

Good News for Fang-Bangers:

HBO renews 'Hung,' 'True Blood,' 'Entourage'

HBO announced the renewal of its entire summer original programming lineup, ordering another round of freshman comedy "Hung," veteran comedy "Entourage" and hit vampire drama "True Blood."

Network executives addressing the critics at the Television Critics Association's semi-annual press tour said "Hung" will get a second season, "True Blood" a third and "Entourage" a seventh. The new seasons will debut sometime next year, with "Blood" firmly planned for summer.

The freshly formed Sunday-night lineup has given HBO two consecutive hours of hit programming for the first time in years. "True Blood" in particular has managed to increase its audience with nearly every episode, giving the network its most-watched show since "The Sopranos."

Maybe Spoilers
Now Now....you are not alone!  Very busy summer although I have been keeping up with the show!  The blood bath scene was sooo disturbing to me...I actually turned away!!  I also was confused because I thought Bill had not killed a human before and then I realized I was mixing up him with Edward in Twilight.....damn that book/movie!

I am worried for whats his name because I don't think Maryanne is going to let him be and I was bummed his possible girlfriend was helping capture and kill him.  I thought is was interesting that Tara's boy had a little bit of a memory with the bloody rock and meadow.  I also didn't realize that Sookie could read peoples minds when they weren't around.....or is it just the other telepathic hotel guy's mind?  I am really liking Jessica and also very happy about that because I didn't think I would!

Alan Ball is the BEST!  I find myself laughing outloud so many times during every episode. I wish I wasn't watching it alone!  It is making me want to go back and rewatch Six Feet Under!

I'm bemused.  I'd have predicted a flurry of comments re the luvley Allan Hyde, who appeared at the end of last week's (US) episode as Godric.  He's in his twenties, and we'll get to see if the role gives him a chance to convey his vampiric age, because that could be a real acting challenge and a fascinating contrast to his comliness.

Alan Ball made Six Feet Under such a grand series, and now here he is doing something so very different, and it too is a delight...  Thank you's!!!

I'd be happy to see a flurry of posts about ANYTHING!  This thread is starting to feel like my own personal blog and I don't like it, Cheesy
Alan Hyde certainly is lovely, I can't wait to see more of him next week.  He's a compact 5'6" according to IMDb and is from Denmark (but only speaks German, English & French?)

I wish Bill was taller!  When he is with Eric he looks soooo small that it is almost hard to take him seriously as a macho vampire. The scenes of him with his maker make him look very macho.   I bet his interaction with Godric will look better on film.

I agree!  Although he is a 'respectable' 5'-10", he does look short next to 6'-4" Eric.

SPOILERS AHOY!:

Last night's episode was probably the best one yet!  I just howled when Jason hugged Bill (after apologising) and then asked "Was that okay for you?"
The lovely Godric didn't disappoint after the build-up to finally meeting him.  I love his accent and that line about him having missed meeting Jesus was hilarious. I haven't read the books but I have an awful feeling that his days are numbered.  His vision of vampires and humans living together in peace is kind of a red flag IMO. Cry And like everyone else on the web, I'm quite tired of the Marianne storyline, it's too damn repetitive.

Spoilers....I will probably include this on every post so I don't have to worry!!

I haven't been reading other blogs on the show and I am so glad that you mentioned that people are sick of the Marianne storyline.  I really don't like it.  Is it ever going to intersect with the vampires?  Could a vampire take care of her?  Will Sookie convince Bill to get rid of her so that Sam can live?  Something has to happen because it is just getting kind of ridiculous.  The eating the heart thing was gross!

Bill does not look 5'10!!  I really liked Eric in this episode.  Not so scary like.  I wonder where Pam was??  I still think that when they dropped off Jessica to Bill last season they were the comic duo!  Speaking of Jessica.......what a bummer for her and her hymen!  Wow!  I never thought that would be a problem!

I wonder where the church was holding Godric and who was caring for him and why Jason never saw him?  I wonder if Godric is in love with a human?  The Jesus comment was hysterical!!

That's according to his bio on IMDb, so who knows.  I was surprised when I read that because he does look shorter.

My husband is only 5'5 so 5'10 seems tall but probably not in movie standards!  I think it is just that Eric is sooo tall!
