Betty, I met you years ago, but I just want to say I'm so thankful to hear the good news about your improved outlook for your health.

Thank you, Debbie! I finished all treatments last week! I'm feeling really good--and I had my first haircut in nine months. My car was a PFLAG float in yesterday's Indy Pride parade, and tomorrow I start a two-week vacation, which is my reward for getting through all this. It's good to have fun again.

It has been 3 years and 4 months and 3 days since Osprey (Rance Searle) passed away, I used to get one here and post updates on how everyone was doing and I guess I slacked off majorly, life has been crazy hectic but it has became better for all of us now that the grieving process is over we can live on knowing he is still here with us and we can talk to him anytime, we all go visit his grave side when we can and I love going back and reading his posts they always give me a good laugh. I figured today I would get back on here and say hi to all of the friends he made while he was posting its crazy to see he passed away 11 days after his last log in. He was given a beautiful headstone with a bench and a beautiful story engraved in it. Anyways I have to make this short but I will be back soon I hope all is well with everyone and I never got a chance to thank everyone for your condolences and the things that were posted of things you had of my uncles that you posted on this thread it helped a lot with everything knowing he was loved and had made many new friends on here with his witty funny ways.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My God, it's like old home week around here.  Sorry for being gone for the last couple of day's, we are getting our Bloom Masters planted here at the headquarters and keeping all these cute boys in line takes a lot of time and attention.    I swear we have half of the gay population of Vernal around here this week.  If I were foot loose and free it would resemble nothing more than a smorgasbord

Well, the Mo Mo's have managed to piss off the Pope, big time.  I don't blame him in the least.  Their practice of doing surreptitious baptisms for the dead has come back and gotten a firm lip lock on their collective ass.  I have never quite figured out why the hell they do that anyway.  Normally, if it doesn't make money, they aren't interested and I can't see where there would be much profit in a vicarious baptism for a corpse.   Thats a pretty chicken shit way of gaining converts if you ask me.  Not only that, it really tends to frost the individual's relatives.  They gave up baptising victims of the holocaust.  Israel was really getting hot about it.  As if trying to get rid of the Nazis weren't enough.  They finally gave that up and started collecting Catholic Parish records and were busily vicariously baptising innocent dead Catholics in to the Mormon Church.  How tacky.  Benedict is not amused.  I felt sorry for these poor folks.  The Catholic men had it by far the worse.   Here they were, happily in waiting in purgatory for the judgement and slam bam thank you mam, suddenly they were in the Spirit World hanging out with Brigham Young and Joseph Smith and had five mothers in law.  That would be a spiritual shock to die for.

Tom, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. It is frightening for her and for those who love her. I will keep your mom and family in my prayers for comfort, peace and healing—especially on July 3.

Witni, thank you for the reminder of our wonderful memories of Rance. I do think about him often, and I wonder about how Marty and your family are doing. I appreciate so much that you are staying in touch with us.

Thank you for the reminders about Rance. I only got to meet him briefly once, in Estes Park. Miss him very much.

Hey, everyone,

I heard from brokebacktom, who has given me permission to post this request. Tom learned today that his mother's cancer is inoperable and that she has only three months to live. Please keep the entire family in your prayers and surround them with your love. This is frightening for everyone.

I hate to follow a post with such sad news with some happy news, because I don't mean to be insensitive, but I am happy to report that the General Convention of the Episcopal Church, meeting this week in Indianapolis, has approved a rite for blessing and celebrating same-sex unions. It becomes "legal" in the church as of the First Sunday in Advent this year.

It's still a "work in progress," and bishops can accept it or not in their own diocese ( Angry ), but I still think this is a happy step forward.  Smiley

I will pray for you all I know how hard it is and how scary, the worst feeling is having high hopes knowing the outcome isnt want your wanting. Praying is what got us through Rance's battle and what got us through the hard times after.

I'd love to have seen the pastor's reaction to this confrontation!
